  1. Can’t wait to watch brown pitch. Not sure what he is throwing, but intrigued by the results so far! Was watching winney for a couple of days and if he ever learns to pick up the spin on balls pitched, he might be someone to pay attention to!!!!!
  2. I meant “the stuff” winkleman had amazing stuff, just no command and control!!
  3. Valera’s stuff is amazing!! The velocity, the movement, and the hitters struggling to pick up the spin on the ball!! but until he learns to harness command and control, he is never getting close to Boston! He literally has no clue where the ball is going when he releases it!!! i think the Red Sox are working with him on locating the fastball! But the secondaries are all over the place! The command and control of the secondaries are more unrefined than winkleman was at this level!!! but don’t get me wrong, the stuff is amazing!!! His stuff is so dynamic, he should be the 3rd ranked pitcher behind early and Tolle!!!! I am concerned about the effort to the delivery and if the ulnar collateral can hold up through this season!
  4. I agree. But injuries are the wild card
  5. I think most of our wbc guys except abreau are struggling a bit
  6. I know I have said this many times, but Valera’s stuff is amazing!!! if he ever learns command and control, he could make it to Boston!!!! or he could go the way of winkleman
  7. No taters today with the minor league teams. the only highlight to report is blies threw out a runner at home!!
  8. Greenville - M white with his 2nd tater of the season. Portland - bleis with his 1st tater. Worcester - Capra with his 2nd tater of the season, and thaiss with his 1st tater
  9. Can we please flip story and rafeala in the lineup????
  10. Salem - Tucker and Fermin with taters today. Greenville - Gonzales, white and zantanello all with taters today. Portland - Ferguson with a tater today. worcester - postponed
  11. Worcester won today. Romero with his first tater of the year
  12. I think Castro is capable of a huge season! But not sure if he has it in him this year!! I am curious if ward keeps hitting. He is pure chaos in the base pads Campbell is the wild card here!! I think he still has work to do on his swing, but if he figures it out, he could be back in Boston at some point.
  13. If Mayer can stay healthy, he will be a perennial all star for us. Hit, defense and some power. He is built for success at Fenway!!!! I know everybody is going to focus on the previous proliferation of injuries, and that is why I say “if Mayer can stay healthy”
  14. Kind of odd that we only played Eaton in the outfield!! Overall, I like our hitters for 2026, but story does not look right at the plate! Not sure if he is changing things up or is this a drive time thing????
  15. Oviedo - when he has command and control, his stuff plays well. When he does not have command and control, he is a train wreck. so far this spring, he is 50-50 on the command and control! Problem is, that’s not good enough a ratio and he would not transition well into the bullpen. he could be a long term Fenway flu candidate
  16. note to other mlb teams: If your team plays in a dome stadium, why aren’t you calling us up and trying to trade for yoshida?????
  17. Impossible to answer without more detailed data, but the question is moot unless story plays for the dodgers!!
  18. Last year I thought 87 wins. this year I am thinking 91 wins. crochet - 15 suarez - 12 gray - 8 bello - 14 Oviedo - 5 Cutter - 4 early - 5 tolle - 5 Whitlock - 4 chapman - 4 weisset - 3 slaten - 3 others combined - 8
  19. Maybe he should have accepted the Q.O. and saved himself a lot of drama!!!
  20. It is so painful to see story in the lineup in the top 4!
  21. If I had to guess 1 pitcher that is not on the 40 man roster that will see time in Boston this year, I would guess Mullins. if his control improves, he could be another option if our pitching staff is ravaged by injuries again this year.
  22. I finally got to see mayer’s arm in action at the ballpark for a few days. what shocked me was that the arm strength on the throws was ok, but not nearly as strong as I was led to believe from the writers!! (Maybe injuries are a part of it) the 3B for Toronto, barger and Henderson of Baltimore have much stronger arms than Mayer!! Barger throws bullets!!!
  23. I saw an interview where the Baltimore gm was good with his rotation. I guess, the reporters helped him to see reality
