  1. Welcome to the world of guaranteed contracts. Hang’em Chaim just needs to move price and Martinez and figure out what do to with all the sore armed pitchers that desperate Dave went out of his way to collect.
  2. It is very depressing to go to an Atlanta - yankees game in Atlanta and see more yankee gear than Atlanta gear, However, it is really cool to go to an Atlanta - Red Sox game and see 70 percent of the crowd is Red Sox fans. Feel like a home game just without the loud mouths in the upper deck!
  3. Hang’em chiam needs to figure out how to move price and Martinez. After that, we can fill from the bargain free agent shelf.
  4. I saw may pitch and loved his stuff. Better than just about anything in our desolate farm system. That would be a great trade. Ps: We may need to throw in a decent prospect or two to make this trade work.
  5. Can bloom create a market that allows us to move Martinez?
  6. And what was desperate Dave’s reputation before he got here?
  7. Not sure he has done squat yet to have earned that right! Right now he continues to revamp the analytics department. Not sure what comes of that, but it’s hard evaluate all the chatter coming in from o’halloran unless he can process the data properly.
  8. How about when greenwell was the heir apparent to rice?
  9. Could any part of his negative spin be attributable to growing up in an era when the Sox just continually found ways to lose?
  10. We call Texas and tell them that we have heard the rumors of them wanting price. We agree to trade them price for an average rookie league prospect, but they got to take Martinez and choke on all the salaries!
  11. Congrats to Ben! Except when they okay us, I wish them all the best. If Ben is looking to load Pittsburgh up with some long term bad contracts and sore armed pitchers, then he needs to call “hang ‘em chiam”. Have we got a deal for you, Ben!!!!
  12. Interestingly enough, no rumors of Larry involved in any of that roster building exercise. We literally went from Ben, who over valued prospects..... to desperate Dave, who vastly undervalued prospects. And oh by the way, desperate dave left us with a non-playoff team and the worst minor league system in baseball. Now “hang ‘em chiam” has to trade our way to respectability. Can he get more than 30 cents on the dollar for any of our sadly depressed assets?
  13. I would trade Betts straight up for syndergaard. But why would the Mets do that deal?
  14. What a terrible contract any of those options would be. Let’s hope it is not “hang ‘em chiam” signing any of those potential contracts. Let Betts go to Atlanta after he has a great 2020 for us.
  15. Stick a fork in him, he is done.
  16. Larussa is like a bad case of herpies! Fortunately it is the angels GM (and not “hang em Chiam”) standing next to jeter at the pharmacy waiting to pick up the latest prescription of ointment and penicillin!
  17. Pedroia single handedly fractured the locker room and sent our season down the tubes. From being on teams as long as I was, I know the players have put all his nonsense behind them and are cheering for him to make a recovery, but not one will ever trust him again.
  18. While waiting on the youngsters to ripen in the minors, we still needed players and unfortunately for Ben not everyone can be a superstar.
  19. Any team that signs betts to a long term nine figure deal is nuts. Welcome to Pedroia part 2. Betts is entering his walk year. He has massive motivation to have a monster year. We need to put him in the lead off spot and let him tee off on opposing pitchers, while simultaneously reaping the benefits of a resurgent Martinez. At the end of the year, we let Betts walk. He wants to play for Atlanta, so let them worry about Betts when he breaks down in year 5 or 6.
  20. We can always bring back rich hill.
  21. I still think it was Larry pulling the strings on those signings. Ben was along for the ride.
  22. If we are going to take a chance on a pitcher, I vote for wood.
  23. Betts does really good in the even numbered years. If our starters return healthy in 2020, hanging on to Betts might be the smarter play.
  24. If he has a good spring training camp, should we not give Chatham a shot at playing second for us and move Chavis to first base?
  25. His defense will he missed, but clearly arbitration is broken if they think he be worth 10 million a year.
