    Romy should platoon 1B as Toro should not play v L.. I’m 100% for Mayer FT at 2B. Romy could rest Mayer a game or two vs L. It’s Anthony’s playing time that is complicated.

    That’s my opinion, but Yoshida is about to bench a better player.

    He can probably outhit Toro but not likely Romy v L.

    I wish there was a way Yoshida could take the place of DHam, Eaton and Romy v R and Toro v L but he can’t play infield. I’d prefer we keep playing our OF/DH as is over Yoshida. A trade makes most sense.

    We should not trade any of our top 4-5 OFers so Yoshida can play, but if it means a serious upgrade at the #2 SP slot for more than a rental, I’m listening. I’d add selected prospects, too. with DH open, we can play Refsnyder vs LHPs and rotate the others vs RHPs with Anthony in RF vs L.

    To me , all our 4 OFers should play over Yoshida and Ref vs lefties. i think a trade should be made to fix one area and free up the logjam about to happen.

    Who gets demoted to AAA is easy. Who gets demoted to the bench, so Yoshida starts vs RHPs, at least or FT as Cora might see it, is not an easy choice. it looks like Anthony and Refsnyder have DHd the most, and both need to keep playing. Ref can platoon with Yoshida at DH, but what OFer does Anthony replace? maybe a trade is made near tge time Yoshida gets called up.

    I’ll repeat myself: I don’t want to overpay for a good SP rental. Longer term pitchers are more often traded in the winter- maybe at a lower cost, as well. this is one reason to sell for prospects that could help us trade for a more controlled and better SP in December.

    I’m encouraged by the improvement. It looked like he went through the minors and 2 years of pro ball with zero gains. going from worst to just bottom 20% dies still suck but it’s a big gain that may or may not continue. It’s been my contention that he only needed slight improvement to be an overall plus. His D and BR make up for sub O. I think the league OPS is now .715, so the bar to just mediocrity on O is lower and more reachable, now. i still think if he hits .675 he’s a plus, but I’ve been hoping he can hit over .690 or .700. The OBP needs the most help. His power is decent.
