    I have no idea. I’m just pointing out that signing Soto will squeeze the budget a few time going forward. i still hope we sign him, but let’s not pretend JH will keep on spending.

    Take away the “Manny being Manny” aspect of the comp, I see Soto as a LH’d version of Ramirez.

    I think Devers can be better on D than Casas at 1B within 6-8 weeks.

    I expect the Sox to wait to add all or all but one of the top 4 prospects to the 40 and 26, until after opening day. None need to be added. We have a pretty solid starting line-up, already. we can either wait until they gain an extra year of control or until we open a roster spot by placing someone on the 60 IL. If anyone breaks camp on the big team, I think it will be Anthony.

    You don’t know how many teams inquired into signing Campbell. I did think he was better than Horn, and maybe the injury played into the choices other teams made. IMO, he offers more hope than many others we will have inAAA and maybe even 13th on the ML staff

    I think there is a good chance Campbell joins the 40, at some point in2024 and pitches for the Sox.

    I doubt JH stays a big spender for the 12-14 years of Soto’s deal.

    The talk on Campbell before 2024 was pretty good. I’m not sure why one injury season changes the narrative all that much.

    What worries me about signing Soto is the fact that we know JH will cut the budget at some point and his deal may be 20-25% of our whole payroll.

    Judging Campbell on one tiny sample size. im glad we have him on a minor league deal, now.

    I think the fact that our top 4-5 prospects look so good, the next tier is being under-rated.
