That’s what I mean that ERod might not wanted to stay in Boston anyway.

I know Bogey won’t win any gold gloves at SS, but there a lot more pressing problems for the Sox that even if Bogey stays he gets moved off SS. Same for Raffy at 3B. ERod should have been signed, but not sure if he wanted to stay, or not.

Does Bogey have a no trade, or not? From what I read he does. I wasn’t for signing Correa at all, but I was just saying he would have helped. Pitching, pitching, pitching is, and has been the biggest need especially the starting rotation.

Correa would have helped for this coming year, but there is no way the Sox would have paid that kind of money if even for 1 year. Bogey is not going ANYWHERE this year unless he wants to. He has a no trade, and I keep hearing all this trade Bogey talk.

Last year there was something to go for at the end on the year, and this year I not so sure. Other teams in the AL East have gotten better, and I’m not to sure that the Sox haven’t taken a step backward especially with Chris Frail out to start the season, and the starting staff looking iffy at best at the moment.

How bad of a sign will it be if Bogey, and Raffy are not resigned? Unlike Mookie they both want to stay.

The point I was trying to make is that I don’t believe JH is as serious about the success of the Red Sox as he used to be. He’s shelled out millions to players that have turned out to be bad contracts with Sale being the latest one so far, and I don’t think he will do it as much anymore. I think the big telltale will be what happens in the coming days, and months with Bogey, and Raffy. When I said I’ll believe it when I see it I was referring to making a big trade, or a big FA signing.

Sounds like a pipe dream to me, and like always I’ll believe it when I see happen. Until then I’ll expect bargain basement shopping being the status quo, and think this is not only the new JH, but the JH going forward.

He said it in 2018 that it was a mistake. That is not hindsight.

I said it was bad at the time to give him the ext. He had worn down at the end of 2018, and he still had one more year on his contract in 2019, but they gave the ext anyway, and he has pretty much not been worth it since.

Shaugnessy said today that Sales contract is looking more, and more like a Pablo, and Crawford bad contract signing. I agree. DD signed the ext, and ownership signed off on it knowing pretty much that surgery was going to happen, which it did, and the last 3 years going on a fourth was nowhere near being worth it. Add the fact that he isn’t vexed, and can’t pitch in Toronto when he can pitch doesn’t help either.
