  1. Put him at DH, which is the only place he belongs.
  2. No LF is not one of the most important D positions, but I don’t want JD out there either.
  3. When was there pressure on the Sox earlier this season, and that they played well under that pressure? The first 16 games against the Yankees were nothing like the last 3 games played last weekend. That was playoff atmosphere, and a lot different from the earlier games, and, because they lost all 3, it has made the next 5 with another lost last night all the more important, and now under more pressure than they have faced all year. Nothing to compare to earlier in the season.
  4. The D has been bad enough that you don’t need Fred Flintstone Schwaber in the field. LF, or 1B.
  5. A lot more pressure playing in these games now compared to even a few weeks ago, and that is a big difference, so flipping back to playing better all of a sudden isn’t as easy as it was before.
  6. You say at the moment the Sox suck, but that has changed all year long, but like I keep saying the Sox are not the same team. They are all these additions, and the record didn’t improve. Earlier in the season they were in first place, and didn’t need those additions, because they were a better team, but you don’t understand that, and keep hoping they will turn it around is all you got at this point, and you can point to flips, and flops all you want, because once again that’s all you got, and no I won’t be thrilled if the Sox implodes, but I just don’t like the way things are going, and have the hope that you do, and I have not written any chances to win 5 in a row, or 6 in a row.
  7. Season records do not mean anything once the post season starts, so if you want to cling on the Sox we’re 10-9 against the Yankees go for it, but I don’t think it makes the Red Sox feel any better. What you don’t seem to get is the Red Sox aren’t the same team as they were earlier in the season, and can’t just turn it on, and get better again. You seem to be the one clinging on thinking the Sox are better than they are. You keep thinking the Sox right now are as good as when they were beating up on the Yankees, and won their first 7 games against them. THEY ARE NOT, so who is the one clinging? You are.
  8. You keep thinking the Sox are the same team that was in first place the first half of the season. They are not, and neither are the Yankees. The Yankees got better, and Toronto got better. The Sox did not, so don’t think the Sox can just turn it around.
  9. Like I’ve said many times that once you get into the post season that head to head is all that matters. Did any of those 21 wins come against the Red Sox? The Rockies also had a long layoff, and the Red Sox were a damm good team at that time. You can look at it however you want, but there are reasons why the Red Sox aren’t a good team at the moment compared to when they were leading the division, which seems like years ago. The bullpen has been worn to a frazzle, by the inept starters who can’t go 6, and haven’t for a long time. The Sox have no closer when at earlier in the season they did. Whitlock, Otto, and Barnes at one time we’re pitching pretty good when they were in first, but not no more. That is not going to change on a whim. The bats can be better, and the defense can be adequate, but this just isn’t the same team that played earlier in the season, and at the moment there is not player you can count on.
  10. Many teams in all sports have one championships that was not the best team during the season. Once the playoffs hit lots of times it is who is playing best at the moment, and not who has played best during the year. If the right now rant annoys you the so be it. You are putting all your hopes on the Sox turning on a dime, and all of a sudden becoming a good team again, and I do not. Right now is all that matters, and right now the Sox are not a good team, and the Yankees are.Right now the Sox are fighting for a playoff spot, and the pressure is on, and right now it looks like the Sox can’t handle that pressure. That’s the difference.
  11. You are always worrying what other teams are doing, and wondering why other teams deserve the playoffs more than the Sox. Right now the Yankees are a better team, and Toronto has a better lineup also right now. At the moment right now is all that matters, and right now the Red Sox are playing like a little league team.
  12. Robles has been Cora’s first guy out of the BP lately. That is how bad the BP is.
  13. The Sox have a lot more problems then you are seeing, and saying just 4 players could make a massive improvement is wishful thinking. JD E Rod Fred Flintstone Schwaber Renfroe The most important Bogey All of these signing, or not signings staying, or not staying have to be answered before you can do anything. 2 solid starters I agree with, but if you think a solid RP is all the bullpen needs then you are way overestimating the bullpen. They need a real closer to begin with, and I’m not counting on Whitlock who needed 3-4 days between appearances to be effective, but I don’t see to much else in the bullpen that I would keep. Only needing a solid utility man for the infield? You have way overrated the rest of the infield. Wow!
  14. I for one have not given up. I don’t scoreboard watch, and I could care less what Seattle, Toronto, or the Yankees are doing. I’ve said for weeks that all the Sox have to do is take care of their own business, and it won’t matter what the other teams are doing. Of course they can’t seem to do that, and that is why they are in the position they are in. It just looks like they have given up, and have not played good baseball for the most part since the all star break, and even worse since the trading deadline. There is not one player on this team right now that you can count on, and this weekend against the Yankees they looked like a little league team. Couldn’t pitch, couldn’t throw strikes, couldn’t field, couldn’t run the bases, and the so called big bats were not so big, so when you say an all star team can loose to the O’s well the Sox are not an all star team, and look more like the O’s the way they are playing. You worry to much about negativity. You can only polish a turd just so long.
  15. Like the Rick Pitino rant 20 years ago. All the negativity in this town sucks. Curt Schilling is not walking through that door, and David Ortiz, and Manny are not walking through that door. Playoffs? Did someone say playoffs?
  16. And just when you think you know the answers we change the questions.
  17. I’m just saying that the way the Sox are playing that no game is a given even against the minor league O’s.
  18. The Sox need a spark, but they are what they are, and at the moment not playing good baseball. The D sucks, but do you think Cora is going to move anyone over at this point?
  19. Cora said the team had a lot of empty at bats tonight. That’s a understatement.
  20. It’s not like the O’s haven’t knocked the Sox out of the playoffs before. Chicken, and beer anyone?
  21. What’s funny is how all of you thought Baltimore was going to be an easy series, and I tried to warn you.
  22. Raffy is not going to win any gold glove at 3B, and Xander at SS, but their not going to make all those changes now. The Sox had been playing pretty good D up until the Yankee series.
  23. I said on a previous thread when everyone was saying the Sox had a easier schedule after the Yankee series that playing Baltimore, and ending up in a NL park that those games would not be a lock as wins.
  24. Bottom line is that the team was not as good the first part of the year when they spent a good time in first place, and aren’t as bad as what they are playing now.
  25. Can’t even get through 6 against a minor league team.
