  1. Hope the weather won’t be a big bugaboo this weekend.
  2. If at 3B where is Raffy?
  3. Speaking of Betts does the trade look worse this year than it did a year ago at this time? Verdugo hasn’t had the year he had last year, and Downs only hit about 170 in the minors.
  4. JD is a pro, but I guess he’s got more criticism this year, because his numbers even though he will get 100 rbi aren’t quite as good as previous years, and not counting 2020. I hope he does get hot in the playoffs.
  5. Agree 100%. I know I’m in the minority, but I would not give out a 300M contract to anybody. The Dodgers won last year, but I think they still would have won without Mookie, and Mookie certainly has not earned his big contract this year, and yes he has been injured, but will break down even more as he gets older.
  6. They go up pretty fast in arbitration, and he may get 20M, or lose to after this year.
  7. You want to pay Bogey more money, and add 2 more years until He’s 36? I don’t think the Sox will do that, and no more opt outs in contracts, and no Devers would not take 6/120, because he would make more through arbitration.
  8. Players are only worth as much as teams are willing to pay, so I don’t begrudge anyone for asking for more money. Mookie just didn’t leave, because he wanted more money.
  9. I’m big on ss defense too, but the Sox haven’t been real flashy at that position through the years. Bressoud, Rico, Burrelson, Hoffman, Nomar, and Johnny V come to mind. Iggy may have been the flashiest if only for a short time. I’m not against trading Bogey if he wants out, but then he has to be replaced, and like you said he has great presence on the team that would be hard to replace too.
  10. Bogey is signed through 2026 at 20 million per, but can opt out after next year. He wanted to stay in Boston, or he wouldn’t have signed that team friendly contract. Why teams put in that opt out clause is beyond me, and you wouldn’t have to go through this like they have with JD. If Bogey wants more money to stay I’m not sure the Sox will be willing to do that. Devers is another case, and the longer you wait the more expensive it will get. I don’t like 300 million long term contracts. I wouldn’t have done it with Betts, or anybody else they don’t work out, and I don’t care who they are. Trout, Stanton, Cole, or Harper, or anybody.
  11. Agree. Lots of contract decisions have to be made the next two years, and Devers has to be paid sooner than later.
  12. Would you trade Bogey if you knew he was going to opt out?
  13. Evol is the man I would want to start the series.
  14. Way to complicated. I don’t see them trading JD, or resigning Schwaber. I believe Renfroe is still arbitration eligible, and it is not like they have all these spare outfielders to get rid of Renfroe, or Verdugo, so trade them for what? You still don’t know what Bogey’s plans are after next year. Outside of Casas there isn’t much waiting in the wings. Either way there is all kinds of questions to be answered, but I still see JD back for his last year, and Schwaber gone. I’ve seen enough of both of them in the field.
  15. Casas will be coming sooner than later too.
  16. I don’t worry what Toronto, or the Yankees are doing. The Sox are 2 games up in the loss column, so all they have to do is take care of their own business, and it won’t matter what the other teams do. Take 2 this weekend, and everything will be fine.
  17. There is only room, or money enough for one of either Schwaber, or JD. Even though JD will get 100 rbi again it doesn’t seem like he has had a good of year. Schwaber is younger, but I don’t know if the Sox want to invest big money in a DH again. Money has to be spent on the rotation, and I don’t know if that includes E Rod.
  18. Ok he hits this pitcher real well.
  19. I think Schwarber’s contribution has been a little overrated since coming to Boston, and that Bobby D, and Renfroe have better stats than Schwaber since his arrival.Schwaber’s first home run in almost 3 weeks.
  20. Bobby D should not be sitting for either JD, or Schwaber, and neither should Renfroe.
  21. Can’t even get through 5🙈.
  22. JD, or Schwaber should have sat tonight. Not Renfroe.
  23. Lot of questions to be answered after the season. Schwaber Is only 28, and JD is 34, and only has 1 more year if he stays, which I think he will, so I don’t think they will pay Schwaber. Do you lockup Renfroe is another question, and you still have to worry what Bogey will do in a few years. That is a bigger question, and sooner, or later Devers has to be paid some big bucks.
  24. I’m surprised the bullpen has any arms left.
