  1. The problem is who would make them do something like this? The owners won’t force that upon themselves.
  2. Unless the bottom payroll teams are made to spend I don’t think it will happen especially if they are like you said running the negotiations for the owners.
  3. It would just be so much easier if there were not only a floor, and a ceiling, and a hard floor, and a ceiling.
  4. JBJ has hit below 250 6 times out of his 9 years in the majors, and 3 of those years were below 200, so it’s not like he was a Silver Slugger candidate before he got traded.
  5. I get that, and there are lots of decisions to be made starting with Bogey, and Raffy, and then replacing JD, Evol, and Kike at the very least just for this year, and next.
  6. Maybe, but prospects aren’t going to help the 2022 team if at all, and there is also a good possibility that JBJ doesn’t help much either with the bat.
  7. Agreed this is what we were talking about about was a RH bat for the outfield, and not what the rest of the team had. Improving the D was needed all over.
  8. I’m not all that impressed with the starting rotation at this point. Sale has to come back, and Evol has to be good, but the rest with Whack a is a crapshoot.
  9. Agree, and this is why the JBJ trade didn’t make sense prospects, or not. A RH bat would have been a bigger need.
  10. One of the worst things going right now in baseball is if you have someone good who is young you have to pony up $300M+ to keep them, and even then you might not be able to keep them, because someone will offer more. Soto didn’t sign, so now you have a choice to think about trading him, or not. I think the Red Sox are in the same situation right now with Raffy. They could offer him a contract, but he might not sign, so then what do you do?
  11. If Suzuki is signed I think that changes things, but not for the better for Duran. I don’t see much of a chance for Duran unless Kike goes full time to 2B.
  12. I think we could have gotten more for Mookie if he would have been traded a year earlier, but to not get pitching back wasn’t as good as it should have been.
  13. I’m with you on that, because outside of him running like a deer I don’t know if he lives up to some of his hype. I think this will be a big year for him to Judge either way. Hopefully Suzuki lands in Boston.
  14. OK I get that, but like I said I know how you feel about Raffy.
  15. Like I said the Red Sox don’t have any OF coming up through the pipelines, so he would have to be replaced.
  16. Why would you trade Dugy, or even Duran at this point? It’s not like you have all these OF coming up through the pipelines.
  17. Moon I did not imply that you would let him walk away for nothing, and I know how you feel about him. We have had this discussion before, and I always say the same thing about any player that if you are not going to resign him then trade him. I would have traded Mookie a year before they did, and I would trade Bogey, and Raffy now instead of letting them walk for nothing. They could, and should have gotten more for Mookie.
  18. I’m very well aware he is a FA in two years, so you just going to let him walk out the door without getting anything for him?
  19. Before any big plans are made with Raffy he would have to be resigned first.
  20. Mayer may never make it to Fenway, and Correa would not be worth the money anyway. Downs, and Duran wouldn’t get you much in a trade, and Verdugo while a good player is not that big a trade chip either.
  21. JD is not going anywhere until next year.
  22. I agree with what you say, but why would Devers only play 1B for 2 seasons? Is he going somewhere?
  23. That’s the key that Casas has to prove he belongs. All the hype in the world doesn’t always lead to success.
  24. Still WOW.
  25. Not only wow, but WOW.
