I don’t put much stock in the teams W-L record with him, and without him. His BA was down, and his K’s were up, but his power numbers were still good. Could he have made a difference against the Yankees? We’ll never know.

RAF Man takes a lot of flak on here, and while his stats aren’t great his glove is worth something, and he had a lot of big hits along the way. He’s not the problem. -

If he stays fine, but i wouldn’t offer him anything more, or longer than what he’s getting now. If he opts out, and someone else offers him more, and for a longer time than say thanks for your help this year, and bye bye.

Agree on the AL being so weak, and that made the AL so wide open to Anyone who got into the postseason. The Red Sox lost out on a golden opportunity.

Agree. Crochet, and Bregman were good pickups even though Bregman was grossly overpaid. The Red Sox lucked out on Chapman having a career year for someone who wasn’t being counted on as the closer when signed.

The trade deadline pickups just wasn’t quite good enough either.🙈

I can understand not going all in at the deadline, but the Red Sox didn’t even go half way, and once again the AL was more wide open than I can remember.

How did the Red Sox let this Yankee pitcher get away when he pitched in college just around the corner from Fenway.

Yes the 13th was still the regular season, but I think as the season wound down, and the innings piled up even though Bello pitched around the same amount last year he started to struggle more. I think plain, and simple Cora didn’t trust Bello last night, and thus the quick hook.

This is postseason not regular season. This is October not June-July. Bello last pitched against the Yankees Sept 13, and gave up 4 runs in 5 innings. Last night as short as it was was No surprise at all, and more predictable than not. I said before the game that Bello would be on a short leash, but I didn’t believe that short.

Why is anyone questioning Cora on the platoon strategy? It’s not really been a big staple of the Red Sox in the past.

2-16 against Rodon, and 0-10 with 5 K’s against Fried is good enough for me concerning Duran.

Splits only tell part of a story. What a batter does head to head with the pitcher is what’s Most important.

The only button Cora pushes is the computer button to turn it on, and watch it spit out the RH lineup, and then when the LHP gets taken out it spits out his LHB to replace his RHB just like last night. It’s not all that complicated, and very predictable.

This is a whole entirely situation though being the postseason, and Bello has more innings built up going into October for the first time. Pitch count? Time will tell.

Masa over Eaton I could see, but Refsnyder would have played no matter who was available IMO.
