  1. What ever happened to Trey Ball? He was a #1 too, but never made it.
  2. It was a comment in jest according to the subject. I was fully aware at 27 Fitzy is nothing more than a utility guy. Having a good ST though.
  3. Yes, and how about Fitzy at 2B? Could have spent that $140M spent on Story on some real pitching instead.
  4. I’m all for the signing, but not at the expense at not resigning Bogey, or Raffy.
  5. I don’t think you can call the Story pickup as being brilliant until you see at the very least how he handles playing in Boston, and to see what his signing does to the makeup of the team going forward. Right now I think he makes the team better, but will it make the team better in the long run?
  6. I think the Red Sox are going to go through many pitchers this year, and I think more than normal will get their chances. All hands on deck.
  7. I think we’d better give them a few more games.
  8. Seabold was even more brutal. If they are that bad after 1 ST game get rid of them both.
  9. A big problem now to me too is that with the Story signing I can’t see the Red Sox having 3 IF signed to big long term contracts.
  10. Agree, and with xtra players on the roster until May 2nd, which should be pitchers there should be enough starters to go around not to have to use openers. Of course with a shortened ST pitching all pitching may be more inconsistent the first month, or so.
  11. Plawecki I don’t think is on any list.
  12. 6/150 to 6/180 maybe unless Boris wants more, and talks him out of it.
  13. 28 man rosters allowed until May 2nd.
  14. There was talk earlier about starting in the 12 inning, but will start in the 10th like before.
  15. Bogey ONLY gets dealt if he wants to get dealt with his no trade, and I don’t think he wants to get dealt.
  16. Raffy, and the Sox have agreed on a deal for the upcoming season at $11.2M., which was his 2nd year of arbitration eligible. Mookie got $10.5M his first year of eligibility, but did have to go through the arbitration hearing.
  17. Depends on a lot of things. First how Casas starts out the season, and then how Bobby D, and the Sox themselves are doing. I don’t think JD will be moved as long as the Sox are in contention. Any number of things could happen, and change at a moments notice like an injury.
  18. Red Sox, and Raffy can’t agree on a contract for this year, so looks like arbitration. Doesn’t look good going forward.
  19. Games did start at 8PM, and twi DH would start at 5:30.it was the games on the West Coast that started at 11PM that were the killers. Of course games didn’t last as long back in those days.
  20. I always thought Fisk was the worst lost. Just, because we have some highly rated prospects in the pipeline does not mean they will work out, or be as good as they are rated. Bogey, and Raffy have worked out, and good as advertised. Story no doubt will help the team for this coming year, but I’ll wait to see how things look going into next year, before I judge if this was a good signing, or not.
  21. I agree. Mookie was different, and I don’t think he wanted to stay, but to lose 2 more home grown good players who wants to stay would be FU.
  22. How bad would it be to sign Story, but lose Bogey, and Raffy?
  23. If I had to guess one way, or the other I would say you are right.
  24. If signing Story will mean that Bogey doesn’t get resigned then I think that is a bad deal Bogey has been part of two championships is the team leader, and loves to play in Boston not to mention that he has also produced. I’m not saying keep him at SS, but if he walks out the door it will be a big loss.
  25. Understood, but I guess it depends how much more Bogey wants than the $20M he gets now, and for how long. I think 8yrs, or more is to long.
