  1. I don’t think Houck has the consistency of throwing strikes to be a closer. He has the stuff, but not the control, which Whitlock does, and I would trust Whitlock more in the closers role, which I think that’s where he should be. I think it is a waste to only pitch Whitlock 2 times a week as a long man when he could pitch 3-4 as a closer.
  2. Great job by the pen.
  3. The fact that he could be locked up through 2028 is long term, and no messing around with arbitration is good too.
  4. Arauz at 2B today, and Arroyo in RF. Suzuki hit his first HR today. To bad the Sox don’t have someone like that in RF.
  5. Houck would have been in the pen if Frail hadn’t gotten hurt.
  6. I went back, and forth on resigning ERod, but I think he wanted out of Boston anyway. It would just be better if we got someone good enough to stick around more than a year.
  7. I’m not asking for any big FA contract, but just something out of the bargain basement would be nice, or a trade for someone young like Pivetta was in a trade.
  8. If the Sox had money for Story they had money for better pitching, which they refused not to do, and went bargain basement instead.
  9. Pivetta’s pitch count was fine. Stanton, Judge, and Rizzo are going to hit their HR no matter what the pitch count is.
  10. The Sox bullpen is not the reason they could be 0-2 very shortly. Giving up the long ball by the starters, and sluggish bats has been more of a problem.
  11. Last year has nothing to do with this year.
  12. Any thought of sticking with Whitlock today even after he gave up the dinger? He was going at least 3 if not 4 if they would have been ahead.
  13. Cora said Barnes was unavailable today with a tight back.
  14. Looked like a guy who only had 6 AB in ST.
  15. What does this say about Barnes?
  16. How many times did Whitlock go 3 last year?
  17. He only had I believe 6 AB in ST, so I don’t expect to much for a few games at least.
  18. RF in Fenway is a tough place to play, and a non outfielder trying to play out there doesn’t sound like a good plan to me. I thought the idea of getting JBJ back was to improve the D in the outfield, which JBJ will do, but what does Arroyo out in RF do?
  19. I guess he got justice for driving 85 in a 45.
  20. Driving 85 in a 45 was not an accident.
  21. One big hangup could be what position you pay these guys at. Bogey as a SS, or 2B/3B, and Raffy as a 3B, or 1B/DH. Each position gets paid different.
  22. Lots of road, and Div games in April, so it won’t be a easy go one way, or the other.
  23. The projections I saw for JBJ was 210/ 12 HR/ 44 RBI in 473 PAs.
  24. He did not state that anybody on here knows nothing about the game for supporting Hill. As usual you put your twist on things to fit your narrative, so you can jump on someone, who you think you know more than they do.
  25. Wha, wha, wha.
