  1. Toilet paper fodder again.
  2. How many times are you going to over analyze? The comment was that Renfroe outhit Mookie last year meaning HR, and RBI, which he did. Nowhere, and I repeat nowhere did I insinuate that Renfroe was better than Mookie, but that’s where you took it. Nobody said either that there wasn’t more to hitting than just HR, and RBI, but that’s what I was using.
  3. The list I saw had him listed 4th, but I’d take Ohtani who was listed 5th over him any day. Different list has different rankings. I not disputing that Mookie is a great player, but just that he’s not worth that big a contract, and if he didn’t want to stay in Boston I’m glad he’s out of town.
  4. Over analyzing again to fit your opinion. I NEVER said Renfroe was better than Mookie last year, but I said out hit meaning HR, and RBI. That is a fact.
  5. Who is most people? I haven’t seen anything that has said that.
  6. Stilll not worth a 12 year contract, and $360M to me. I don’t know why so many pine for Mookie on here for someone who didn’t want to stay in Boston. I know I’m certainly not.
  7. Where did anyone say RBI, and HR are all that matters, but isn’t that’s what the big contracts are payed for? Over analyzing always gets someone to their opinion that might not be someone else’s.
  8. We can do this all day, but switch Kingman, and Carew in the batting order, and Carew wouldn’t have the same amount of RBI even if you had a Carew clone leading off. Different hitters do different things, but if Mookie career’s averages had been like last year I doubt he would have gotten the contract he got from the Dodgers.
  9. Lousy to you, and not to me, but I do know enough to go deeper than just an RBI to see who’s batting in front of somebody. Not everyone batting in Renfroe’s position last year still wouldn’t have had 96 RBI, or hit 30+ bombs. Some would have had more.
  10. Just pointing out that Kike is a career 239 hitter like you pointing it Renfroe is a 239, which neither one is very good. Every good RBI man needs good hitters in front of him getting on base. I’m not sticking up for Renfroe, but amazes me how many were down on Renfroe such as he was such a bad OF, and being a bargain at $3M wouldn’t be worth $7M, so now we got JBJ instead.
  11. Do you want Boggs , or Yaz? I’ll take Yaz.
  12. You have your stats, and I have mine, and I don’t know why it bothers so many. I’m not into the nerd world of metrics, and it doesn’t bother me to those who are. I just don’t pay any attention to any of it, and that is not a bad thing to me. I don’t believe metrics has made the game better, and I can do without, but I accept the fact that some can’t.
  13. All I’m saying is that Raffy’s , and possibly Bogey’, JD’s, and Evo’s last years are just being wasted in the process. At the moment I could care less what happen to year, and beyond especially with Bloom in charge.
  14. I’m very well aware that Betts has more speed, and a great OF, but I still don’t think he was a $30M man last year, and would not want to pay him for 11 more years.
  15. Since everyone like prospects/suspects so much Raffy should have been traded last year, and got some more since the theory on here is the Sox are not going all in to win this year. Once again wasting a year of Bogey, Raffy, and JD. Smart baseball sense.
  16. Kike is a career 239 hitter same as Renfroe.
  17. More HR, and RBI is good enough for me. I don’t use metrics except if they are on paper in the bathroom.
  18. Betts wasn’t a $30M man last year, and I would hate to think of paying him 11 more years. Renfroe outhit Betts last year for $3M.
  19. My initial take on this trade after 700 voiced his opinion after the trade was made that it was a bad trade, and didn’t make sense. You wanted JBJ back, and to also keep Renfroe, which would have made even less sense especially with JBJ’s contract.
  20. Prospects, prospects, prospects, or as I say suspects, suspects, suspects who may never play 1 inning in a Red Sox uniform, and that is one reason I don’t trust Bloom with all of the what could be lots of comings, and goings this offseason to build a good team.
  21. Fans are still scratching their heads as to why JBJ was brought here. The runs that JBJ would save over Renfroe won’t be close to the amount of runs that Renfroe will produce over JBJ. It was a bad trade when it was made, and is a bad trade now.
  22. I said when Evol threw batting practice to Houston on Tuesday that it could be a turning point one way, or the other, and it looks like a good turn when JBJ hits a HR last night, and Barnes gets a save tonight. Things at the moment are looking up.
  23. When we get to 500 I’ll get excited again.
  24. Missed the due to my first lobster, and clam feed of the year, but as far as Whitlock goes I guess I didn’t miss much. As I’ve been saying all year to me he should be the closer.
  25. Either way it was good to see JBJ come through with a big hit like that.
