  1. Story Land stays open.
  2. Did she want him to go to the Dodgers?
  3. If the contract offer was true by the Red Sox of $300M, and Mookie’s counter offer was $400M+ then I think at that point the Red Sox did not want to go any higher then the trade came into play. I’ve always had the opinion that Mookie was not going to resign in Boston anyways.
  4. Perhaps if the Red Sox had signed Bogey for 6/25 at the time with no opt outs it would have been a lot easier in the long run.
  5. Dugo shouldn’t be batting 5th with the way Story is bashing .
  6. Well said, and I agree. The only point is that while Mookie is a super talent I just just don’t think he would have stayed even if the money was even with the Dodgers, while I think Bogey would stay for a little less, and Raffy is going to have to be paid what ever the going rate is. Only basically getting Dugy for Mookie was bat enough, and yes I know we got rid of some Price money, but Bogey going out the door will be less than that. I heard discussed on the radio today that Bogey walking out would be a bigger loss than Mookie, and NO they wasn’t saying Bogey is a better player than Mookie, but with his stature in the clubhouse, and on, and off the field that you can’t measure with any kind of stats including the analytics.
  7. 4 outs at the most.
  8. I’m not sure that he could be a good closer just like I’m not sure he could be a good starter, but still the fact remains the Red Sox lead the league in blown saves, and that is the result of not having a reliable closer. I all for giving Houck at shot at closing, but Cora dose not seem to want to do that either.
  9. How many times has Whitlock just pitched in the 9th inning in a save opportunity?
  10. It’s hard to tell what would have happened if someone else had started those games Whitlock started so far. I wouldn’t be against Whitlock starting if the Red Sox had a good closer, but the fact is they don’t, and my opinion is that Whitlock is more valuable there then as a starter. Leading the league in blown saves is a fact, and I just think the blown saves will keep on adding up until a closer is found.
  11. Which team leads the league in blown saves? How many save opportunities has Whitlock had in the 9th inning? Whitlocks blown save this year was pitching in long relief trying to go 4 innings. Once again the blown saves the Red Sox have accumulated this year you cannot get a do over, but if you could, and Whitlock had been the closer I have no doubt the Red Sox would have a better record right now, and that is on Cora.
  12. Your right for the most part except that I ignore the reality that the team needs to score more runs, but the simple fact is they didn’t, and what you keep ignoring is all the one run leads that has been blown, and yesterday was the latest example in the 8th, and 9th inning, because they didn’t have a closer, and you are not getting those games back, and are in the loss column for good. All your facts are right, but it doesn’t change the blown saves, which means a lead in the 8th, and 9th inning. Woulda, shoulda, and coulda got have got you more runs, but woulda, shoulda, and coulda didn’t. Woulda, shoulda, and coulda should have gotten you a closer, but that still hasn’t happened, and Cora, and Bloom continue to go without one, and I predict more losses on the way, because of it.
  13. To bad for Evol though.
  14. A good win, but it shouldn’t have been that difficult. If the Sox only had a closer.
  15. On one of my many sports venues I visit the F&M show they refer to the people who run the Red Sox as the analytics nerds. I don’t think they are using that in a negative light, but just the way they do things, and I certainly don’t use it in a negative light either. I don’t use, or need analytics to watch, or judge any sport, and yes to me I would only use it if it was on paper in the bathroom. On the other hand other people use it, and need it like it’s the Holy Bible of baseball. The problem being to some on here is me not wanting any part of analytics causes problems, because it doesn’t match their opinions. Just by me saying Renfroe outhit Mookie last year, and didn’t clarify it only meat HR, and RBI caused all this back, and forth, and with all that no one’s opinions got changed, so round, and round we go when all we had to do was agree to disagree, but that for some reason seems to be a hard thing to do on here.
  16. I’ve been on record many times if it’s anything to do with analytics then I don’t care about it. My stance is well know, and there is nothing wrong with that stance just like there is nothing wrong with the people who do.
  17. Cora over managing again too. It’s not like Davis can’t get RHH out.
  18. Been saying it all year. Now the BP has to work more innings like they haven’t been overworked already.
  19. Yes I know I should have clarified, because the word police will be out in force for clarification. Where did I say I don’t like OPS? I don’t care if you don’t like the fact that I’m not a analytics nerd either. You judge things your way, and I’ll do mine much to your displeasure. I love it when a plan comes together. I aim to please.
  20. It was good enough for me last year, so if that caused a commotion then so be it. Just a different opinion that people don’t like.
  21. Another blown win for Evol by the so called closer. Way to go Bloom, and Cora. Yes I’ll say it again. Whitlock should be the closer.
  22. Another HR from Mookie today #10, which is helping my HR derby team. Been on fire lately.
  23. Moon there is no change need. I said Renfroe out hit Mooke last year in HR, and RBI. That as a fact. Other people has taken it to other places, so you might as well chirp in as well.
  24. That Renfroe had more RBI, and HR than Mookie last year, and nothing more, and nothing less. Other people took it to other areas sticking up for Mookie.
  25. I’m not really sticking up for Renfroe, but I just didn’t think he was that bad an OF like you, or some of the others did, or that $7M was such a high price to pay for him that’s all.
