  1. Because to them playing piggyback is more important.
  2. I’m not counting on Sale to be anything more than how he came back last year, and not the Chris Sale of old.
  3. Everyone goes Ga Ga over the farm, but what are they until they produce in a Red Sox uniform, or traded foe someone who does, but unless those two things happen they are just the farm, nothing more, and nothing less. Having said that you do need to have the farm produce some, because you just can’t go out, and buy a team. The 2018 team had plenty of help from the farm. I’m for keeping all of the Bogey, Raffy, Story, and even JD for the right price, and years, and hopefully at least Cases can produce soon, and then fill with mid level, and hopefully some pitching can come up, and help. If not the team won’t get much better, because you can’t count on Frail, and you still don’t know what you will get from Houck, and Whitlock. Pitching is always the key. Evol would be brought back too for the right price. Duran could hit 400 for the Woo Sox, but how does that helps the Red Sox unless some other team likes him enough to trade the Sox some young pitcher for, or is thrown in as part of a trade.
  4. His control issues haven’t been addressed injured, or not. Meh.
  5. I’m talking about this year.
  6. And that’s why I’m against giving out those long term contracts going into a players late 30’s rather it’s to lower the AAV, or not. Trout has been hurt a lot now, and probably will even more going through his 30’s.
  7. Darwinzon has 16 walks in 19.2 innings. I’d be surprised if he comes back up.
  8. I don’t remember anyone on here saying they should. I want him resigned, but 6yrs at the max.
  9. Big difference between tacking on an xtra year on his existing contract for $30M, which would make it 4/90 then 9/225. Which sounds more like the Red Sox?
  10. I don’t think there is anyway the Sox would offer Bogey a 9yr contract at this point.
  11. Using Houck in a 7-1 game. Wow I guess Cora isn’t taking any chances, but who’s going to piggyback Hill tomorrow?
  12. Cora had the leading hitter in the league on the bench,, and still he let Arroyo hit with the game on the line. Not a good managerial decision to me.
  13. You’re right to a degree, but like we’ve discussed not using Whitlock, or Houck as the closer with the team leading the league in blown saves to me is on Cora.
  14. Cora is just as much to blame as Bloom for the way he has used the bullpen bad, or not.
  15. Yes he shoulda, but with the bullpen sucking it was just a wasted effort. How many wins has Evol lost, because the pen blew the lead for him? It’s never been a question to me if Whitlock can start, or not, but just that he would be more valuable in the pen.
  16. The best solution would be to have both Houck, and Whitlock in the pen, which I believe wouldn’t have even been a question if Sale hadn’t gotten hurt. The Sox don’t have a winning record when Whitlock starts, so it’s not like that has been a successful way to go.
  17. Cora didn’t want to take a chance of blowing another game that Nate had pitched good in by the BP.
  18. Danish was warming up in the 9th today. Not a comforting thought.
  19. Over managing there, because it was only the 6th, but Bobby D did the unexpected, and it worked out.
  20. JBJ has that LF stroke working pretty good.
  21. Openers, and piggybackers are 2 things that I would have no problem being done away with. In the meantime The Sour Man, and Hansel are back to Worcester, and on the injured list, and Valdez, and the Bra Man are back. Nothing ventured, and nothing gained.
  22. I’ve been saying since opening day that if the good Barnes can’t be the closer than Whitlock should. I think Whitlock is being wasted being in the rotation, and not because he can’t start, but the Biggest need is in the bullpen. Leading the league in blown saves is not a good stat to lead anything in. I blame both Bloom, and Cora for the bullpen, and the use of Whitlock, and Houck specifically. Piggybacking seems to be more important than closing.
  23. I agree it is all on Bloom.
