  1. Ok I’ll admit it premature, but it doesn’t mean it’s wrong. Time will tell. The Sox haven’t won 4 championships under Henry doing it the Tampa way, and I don’t want to start trying it now. I’m not from The Whoo hoo we got someone from the Tampa fan club.
  2. Do you think Theo, or DD would work under the restrictions that Bloom has? I understand that Bloom doesn’t have the budget that the other two had, but I still think he is over his head in Boston. His admirers have been all for him the minute he landed from Tampa, but I just have not. I could be wrong on this, and if I am I will say it.
  3. This is all good, and well, but you have your opinion on Bloom, and I have mine. The only thing that will change my mine is if this team ends up in the postseason this year, and next year also, because I am not allowing Bloom, or the Red Sox any room for a fire sale of this magnitude, because I don’t think it should have ever come to that. Once again I have my opinion, and you have yours.
  4. Well they signed Harper, and Schwaber the last few years, but didn’t seem to be going anywhere.castellanos too.
  5. It’s just a theory of mine, and nothing else. Either way it was a ridiculous offer, and I don’t think it warranted a counter off, which some have suggested on here.
  6. He was given the assignment of trading Mookie. Do you think John Henry told Bloom to just offer Bogey a one yr contract ext for $30M? John Henry admitted they bungled the John Lester negotiating, so I think this was all on Bloom. Now I’m not saying JH gave Bloom a blank checkbook, but I think the offer was Bloom’s bungling.
  7. Even at 13 innings he’s looked better than some in the bullpen. We’ll take what we can get at this point.
  8. Yes looks good so far, and these are the lower level moves that Bloom can hit on, but it’s the big moves that worry me.
  9. I already gave Bloom an A for Whitlock, and Pivetta was a good steal too, and if the Seaman turns out it will be even better.
  10. Yes they can sign a FA DH, but will it replace JD’s bat? Evol is an innings eater if nothing else. I have said before that Story will never replace Bogey on, or off the field. I think the jury is still out on Story’s value, and some days Story Land is open, and some days Story Land is closed. He did have quite a May, but we’ll just have to see how he ends up. It would be pretty near impossible to replace Raffy’s value, and if you could at what cost. Dugy certainly is nowhere near Mookie’s value.
  11. What to heck does getting Pivetta for two rag arms got to do with replacing mega talent like Bogey, Raffy, Mookie, and JD’s bat?? I heard this from someone else yesterday, and it’s not even a close comparison.
  12. That’s not what I’m saying. Plain, and simple if the Red Sox lose Betts, Bogey, JD, Evol, and Raffy I have NO CONFIDENCE that Bloom can replace these players with anything close to equal value, and the Red Sox will be worse off than they were before. That’s all.
  13. I’m talking talent, and production that you would have gotten if Betts would have stayed, and talent, and production you would Get from Bogey, JD, and Raffy if they stayed, and what you would get from their replacements.
  14. I can’t see Bloom having Thanksgiving dinner with someone like Theo did with Schilling to get him to come to Boston.
  15. Hey I thought Theo did a good job, and also did a good job with the Cubs.
  16. I remember years ago on the old CBS message boards there was a big debate, and poll if Theo was Boy Wonder, or Boy Blunder.
  17. Theo had a hard time with SS.
  18. I do too, but his contract gets bigger everyday.
  19. Because I don’t believe nerds, and clones (not my words) running the Red Sox are a good thing.
  20. I’ll give him an A for that.
  21. Judge to the Red Sox, and Raffy to the Yankees? Quite a blockbuster!
  22. Now if Bloom gets someone on a list like this I’ll say he did a good job, and the farm produced a good crop.
  23. You think the fans would put up with losing Mookie, Bogey, and Raffy in a few short years? Tampa doesn’t have much of a fan base, so it’s no big deal to them. Attendance is already down in Boston, and I believe would go down even more if that were to happen, and the same for NESN ratings. John Henry would not like that.
