  1. Why would you want your top RBI man leading off? Who is going to drive in the runs that Story has even if they were getting the same opportunities with men on base.
  2. Am I the only one on here tonight? No, and he’ll no. At least Dugy, and JBJ, and Franchy have picked it up, and I don’t need all your analytics to tell me that. Eye test.
  3. Cora’s played some small ball tonight let’s do some more.
  4. Good for fWAR, but the good old eye test tells you enough.
  5. Newsflash. The prospect is in Worcester. Your grasping at straws at the thought of Kike being platooned. First Renfroe, and now Dugy.
  6. I didn’t know Renfroe was still playing for the Sox, and has NOTHING to do with if Kike should be platooned, or not, which I think he should.
  7. Kike is only a career 240 hitter.
  8. Maybe Kike needs to be platooned.
  9. Bloom’s pride, and joy.
  10. Now the bullpen takes over in a close game that hasn’t happened to much lately. Can you say STREAKMAN?
  11. Mass spelled it all out for you during the broadcast why he should be in the BP. He just looked exhausted pretty much the whole game too.
  12. Tony Mass agrees too.
  13. He doesn’t have the secondary pitches.
  14. This is the guy to stop the losing streak? Looks like the Angels wanted to keep it going.
  15. JBJ has both of those balls.
  16. And Bloom first wanted him. Downs is a bust too.
  17. You keep on asking that question on who else was interested like the Dodgers were the only one, and maybe they were, but we don’t know that. No one ever said Downs was the center of that deal, but he sure has been talked up enough on here. Betts should have been traded earlier, and maybe just maybe they could have gotten more players back, and not prospects. I don’t like Bloom, and I’ve been right up front with that, and I know it bothers all his followers, but that’s my opinion. You said 2 days ago it was good to see Downs heating up. What’s he been like 2-30 with 11 K’s? Wow!
  18. If the grades would have been in Bloom’s favor you would be all over them. Downs was supposedly some high prospect at the time of the trade, so the grades today would probably be even lower.
  19. Now we’re talking.
  20. You are going off from the point I was trying to make. 1 year of Betts compared to 5 years of Dugy I get, but that’s not my point.
  21. I didn’t know ERA ever went away. Either way Davis was not significant.
  22. Understood about prospects in a trade, but no matter how good Dugy does he will never be a Betts, and doing a fire sale , or not resigning Bogey, JD, and Raffy what are the chances that you will get equal value back either in players, or prospects, and end up being better than you were before. That has been my big question right along. Those all are big shoes to fill, and just like Story will never fill Bogey’s shoes just, because he might be a better defensive SS.
  23. I’ve always said I’m against 10year/$300M contracts for anybody, and that’s Raffy, and Mookie included. Bloom did do a bad job on the return for Betts especially the great Jeter Downs who has gone 2 years now without getting above 200 against AAA pitching, and that is Blooms fault. Look at all the sites that graded the deal, and how many gave Bloom a passing grade.
  24. I’m very well aware that John Henry has the say in Bogey, and Raffy are resigned.I wouldn’t pay nowhere near $650M to resign them, and I think under $500M would do it. Comparing Sale, and Price is nowhere near a good comparison to Bogey, and Raffy. You now what Bogey, and Raffy can do in Boston, and Sale was a TJ waiting to happen, and price was a bad fit for Boston, but he went to the highest bidder. So you just want to be competitive like the Rays, but don’t win anything like the Sox have done the past 20 years. The Sox didn’t win 4 WS doing it the Tampa way.
  25. I have been a Red Sox fan since about 1960, and I just don’t want nothing to do with the Tampa way. Why is Bloom so high on some list here? He was praised just because he came from Tampa before he had done anything for Boston. Prospects! Did someone say prospects? There has been so much fire sale talk on here even before the season started that I think the prospect of getting prospects is more appealing than anything else. The Red Sox have produced many good talented players through the years without doing it the Tampa way. Mookie, Raffy, Bogey JBJ, and Bennny just to name a few on now, and recent teams. Future to me is now, and not what prospects may, or may not do. Brightness to the future would be to get Bogey, and Raffy signed. Not hoping what Casas, or Mayer is going to do. Any time there is an opinion on here against Bloom, or Cora is like how can you think like that. Very predictable, and amusing. Someone said we got Bloom, and we got Cora like that is supposed to give the Red Sox a big advantage, and I don’t always see it like that.
