  1. Who is giving up on Bello? He wasn’t ready to be brought up, and is going through growing pains. I agree on a third pitch.
  2. Who said spending $40M is no different from $60, or $90M who? Who is pretending there is no budget restrictions on Bloom who? Some just don’t care, and use that as an excuse the Red Sox are a losing team, and in last place in the Div.
  3. Ok I understand that JH has a budget, but I just don’t worry about it. It’s not like he can’t afford to go over the lux tax, and that’s how I look at it, but I do get it man.
  4. It’s the whole sum of the team that went to the postseason last year that Bloom tinkered with this year like JBJ for Renfroe, and not resigning Schwarber that made the team worse off, and not just how much Renfroe would have made a difference this year.
  5. Agree 100%. I don’t like $300M+ contracts, but on the other hand I could care less if JH had to shell out $500M for payroll. I don’t know why some worry about JH money. I sure JH doesn’t worry when any fan shells out big money for a ticket.
  6. And some on here were so worried that while he’s was worth $3M he would not be worth $7M, and he wouldn’t be able to duplicate, or come close to his numbers from last year. Also that JBJ would be better than he was last year. JBJ didn’t hit 160, but still sucked with the bat.
  7. Or a different, and better place to shop.
  8. Understood.
  9. I’ve seen it a lot worse, and usually gloom, and doom starts at the first sign of trouble.
  10. The point being that this team should have had a reliable closer on DAY 1, and then if you had one, and two reliable setup men would be the best way to go. I referenced the Twins in the first post, because that’s what they have done, and I wasn’t talking about the Red Sox current situation at the deadline.
  11. Which it is what it should be when the team is 5 games under 500. Last in the division, and 9 games back in the L column for the last Wildcard spot.
  12. Duran hasn’t pitched in more than 1 inning since Jul 16th like 16 appearances ago, which was before they picked up Lopez to close. No one was saying to trade for Lopez, but just to have a reliable closer, and 2 good setup men. God forbid if we had to give up a top 10 suspect from the farm to get something.
  13. They have been playing this since day 1, and yes it’s on the manager. He has to do more than just keep saying we have to play better, which he’s done 100 times already this year.
  14. I’d be more excited if we had someone other than Bloom to deal with the flexibility, and resources. Did Kennedy sound like a bad politician?
  15. I hope Bloom saw the game last night, and the backend of the Twins BP. A setup man in the 7th, a setup man in the 8th, and a actual closer in the 9th. To. Me that’s the way to do it. Guys who throw 1 inning at a time, and 98-103. Wow! Hey it’s nice to be able to throw 2 innings at a time but the Twins way to me is the best way.
  16. Wow! How low can this team go? 5 games under 500 7 games back in the L column for last place 9 games back in the L column for last wild card spot
  17. Or looked at the standings?
  18. Billy Martin sure would have.
  19. Raffy with his head up his ass. This team is brain dead sometimes.
  20. Bad it was, and we’ll find out later if it is costly.
  21. Arroyo in lineup tonight at 1B. Member last time he made 1 stretch, and pulled a muscle. Glad to se Cora keep his bat in the lineup, which it should be. Franchy in CF, and don’t like that.
  22. Ok we disagree on Franchy. You can give him more of a chance, but I don’t see Cora benching someone to give him a chance to do so.
  23. That’s what I mean that to much hope is being placed on the Farm system, because they have better rankings.
  24. Duran, and Franchy had plenty of chances when the Red Sox were still in it, and neither showed very well. Playing them now just to run out the string will not show you the same thing. To keep playing Kike to see if he’s back to his so called norm wouldn’t show a thing to what he would do next year, and same with Pham. Both Kike, and Pham have played long enough to know what they bring, and what they don’t bring. Calling up Wong is fine, but only if he is in the plans for next year.
  25. I’m not disagreeing, but I just don’t see Cora doing it. You
