  1. Ok we’ll go with utility man, but once again a subject that been gone over many times.
  2. Just cause I don’t have a man crush on Kike like you do you call it dissing him. Like another poster said yesterday Kike was a utility man with the Dodgers, before he came to Boston. Kike was healthy last year when he sucked on day 1, and took him until the end of May to get above 200, and all, before he was hurt. A super sub is not a bad thing, but he’s just not the star that you make him out to be.
  3. Kike is a nice super sub who can play a number of positions, and play them well, so I don’t think that is downing him in anyway. I just don’t value him as highly as you do. Kike had a great run in last years post season, but I don’t think people look at him like Yaz in 67, or Ortiz many postseason exploits, or even Dave Robert’s stolen base, and there is nothing wrong with that.
  4. Kike is excellent on D no matter where you put him. No argument there.
  5. Ave is where you start, and then you do the digging Schwarber has the power production, and Kike does not, so if you are just comparing Ave you are right, but once you go deeper into the stats it’s not much of a comparison, and both from the leadoff spot.
  6. I didn’t need it said he sucked. I already knew it, but glad you admitted it. Hope he gets back to at least his 239 career Ave. I’d hate to think Bloom just threw $10M away.
  7. 2022 does not mean anything for what happens in 2023, but 2022 is still getting plenty of air time.
  8. I will say a net plus, but his pluses did not off set what I mentioned earlier as his minuses, and some of the net pluses were to little TO LATE.
  9. The company line talk was about how some looked at this past season like you did, and say if the Red Sox were in a different Div they wouldn’t be in last place. Past history has nothing to do with it.
  10. What about 2022 when Kike sucked from day 1, and it took him until the end of May just to get above 200, and long before he was hurt too.
  11. Like I have said many times there was plenty of blame to go around for the way things turned out this year. Bloom made the team worse to start with by doing the JBJ trade, and him, and Cora had a bad so called plan for the backend of the BP. Bloom also waited until August to do anything about the BIG 1B, and OF problems. Couldn’t get enough of Franchy Strangeglove, and Duran Duran the Butterfly Man looking like Little Leaguers on the first day of tryouts a lot longer then should have been allowed to continue, so yea Bloom did just great.
  12. So if you want to say the 2022 team was not as bad as the 2020 team then fine, but it’s still a losing team. Going with the glass just isn’t as empty.
  13. A losing record is a losing record, and that is a fact, and a reality, and anything else you want to call it is it not? Like I said if it’s fine for you to look at things your way then go for it, but I just look at it another way, which is fine for me.
  14. Moon has brought this company line up more than once, and if that’s how you want to look at things, and it makes you feel better fine, but to me they were a losing team, and that’s how I look at it.
  15. Being in last place is never overblown. Winning a WS in 2018 did not make it all right for 2020, and 2022 to happen.
  16. Wash-rinse-repeat you keep saying the same things. What’s going on this year had more to do with injuries, and underperforming than anything else.
  17. You have no more of a clue on what the Red Sox want to do than anybody else. Pipedream, or not.
  18. Maybe Raffy too. I’m just saying to not go all in is a waste to me. Analyze anyway you want, and disagree all you want.
  19. Bogey, and Raffy especially. Bogey could have been settled last off season.
  20. He’s had three years to not let all of this contracts stuff come due at once.
  21. Bogey, Raffy, and Story, and hopefully Casas is the foundation. There is no time like the present in my opinion.
  22. Look at it anyway you want, but resigning Bogey, and Raffy are priority. This just all of a sudden just pop up, and Bloom yes has had 3 years to plan for this, and what to do with all the expiring contracts. Bogey especially should have been taken care of one way, or the other last off season, and Raffy one way, or the other should be taken care of now. Bloom has let it get to this point, and all the holes that have to be filled.
  23. I agree with what you are saying, but I just don’t see waisting a prime year of someone like Raffy, or Story, or even Bogey for that matter, because you don’t know what the future will hold.
  24. If Bogey, and Raffy are resigned I don’t think you are going to be signing any other big contracts now anyway, so trades will have to be made. If Bogey for now especially is not signed than that changes things. I understand fully if Bogey, and Raffy are not resigning that most of the blame will be on JH.
