  1. I don’t have numbers, but only that ticket sales were down from previous years, and sponsorship for TV, and radio were also lagging. Attendance may be down everywhere, but I think coming off a losing last place in the div season, and the gift from JH of raising ticket prices again has more to do with it. Losing Bogey hasn’t helped either.
  2. Right! He overpaid on Price, and probably overpaid on Raffy when they didn’t lock him up last offseason.
  3. Like lagging ticket sales, and sponsorships?
  4. We keep going around, and around on this. You only want to say we don’t know, and I give the reason why we don’t know, and that’s why I keep saying it was botched, and you continue to look the other way, and only say we don’t know, but don’t say why we don’t know. It was never offered.
  5. And once again it was never offered, and that’s the only reason we don’t know.
  6. And once again we don’t know only, because it was never offered.
  7. I understand that JH has always had the checkbook, but do you think JH told Bloom to just offer Bogey a 1 yr $30M ext?
  8. Good summation, and like I said we’ll never know what it would have taken to sign Bogey a year ago, because a LEGITIMATE OFFER was NEVER made.
  9. You keep saying we don’t know what it would have taken to sign Bogey a year ago, and that is true, but the reason for that is, because Bloom never made him a legitimate offer. A 1 yr $30M ext was a joke, and Bloom was a joke it offering it. I said it then, and I’ll say it now that Bloom read the room so bad, and that is where the BOTCHED came in. Why do you think Henry has gotten Booed when he’s shown his face in public, or Bloom getting booed trying to shout down some PAYING customers? I think more than anything it’s, because of the way they handled the Bogey situation, and also that is a reason ticket sales, and sponsorship ship is lagging, because of Bogey being treated the way he was.
  10. B O O! B O O! If JH shows his face again I’m sure it will rain down on him again. Ticket sales are lagging, and sponsors are also lagging. B O O!
  11. I said at least 2 of the three could have, and should have been retained, and all three could have been retained if JH wanted to, and still could have signed other players too. What you won’t admit is that the Red Sox will be set back for years if all your eggs in a basket hyped suspects don’t pan out.
  12. Facts are that DD had a winning record all 4 years, and a WS championship. I’m willing to concede that DD botched the Mookie negotiations, and I still state Bloom BOTCHED the Bogey negotiations, so call it what you want.
  13. Ok so now we agree that Both DD, and Bloom BOTCHED things up, but at least DD had 4 winning seasons, and a WS championship.
  14. I’ll go with the known Super Stars instead of a bunch of hyped suspects who may never turnout as good as they’re hyped, and like I said earlier if that happens the Red Sox will get set back for years to come.
  15. Bloom was talking out his ass, and looking like an ass in doing it trying to shout down the boo birds. I believe the reason that Raffy was resigned out of the three was because he was the last one standing. At least two of the three could have, and should have been resigned, and would have if Bloom hadn’t botched the Bogey contract so bad. Some are putting all their chips on the suspects who have hype, and promise, but at this point that’s all that is, and that includes Bello, Casas, and Mayer, and if they don’t turn out as good as the hype the Red Sox will be set back for years.
  16. Agree, and Bloom trying to shout down all his great admiring boo bird fans who paid money to do so made him look even worse.
  17. There should be 1 vote to get into the HOF. Either you’re good enough, or you’re not. Rolen got something like 10% his first go around, so how did he get better? How many votes did it take for Jim Rice to get in? The intention of the HOF was the very best of the very best of the very best.
  18. I think time will all take care of itself, and in all likelihood, it will take more than 6 starters to get through the season. Outside of Pivetta you don’t have any recent likelihood of all these guys lasting through a season, and Bello probably will have a innings limit at the very least.
  19. If he pitches like last year yes, but he’s been around for awhile, and last year may have just been a career year, and he’ll go back to being a journeyman like he was before.
  20. I think Paxton starts off in the starting rotation. How long he stays there is another question.
  21. I don’t think Barnes has to much trade value, and it sounds like Cora, and Bloom might not be on the same page.
  22. I would sign Iggy if he is still out there. That way you got a 2B, and a backup SS over Arroyo.
  23. When Story went down I think Bloom took what was probably the easiest position to fill, which ended up being Duvall over an Andrus type, which may have wanted more money for more years.
  24. I get that, but the problem is other parties don’t. I get it that others don’t want to hear constant I know you are, but what am I going endlessly back, and forth. I’ve been on endless message boards, and forums through the years, and have never seen anything like this.
  25. I don’t think Bogey is finished by any means, but what kind of numbers he puts up in other parks will be interesting to see. He’ll have plenty of good bats around him.
