  1. Myself as a fan I don’t want to see an easier schedule. To me it’s pretty simple if you want to win more games Get Better. I would rather see the Red Sox, and Yankees play 19 times than 13 times. This is a lot different Red Sox team this year compared to last years team, and it doesn’t mean the Red Sox would have sucked against the Div again this year.
  2. Any year they don’t make the postseason to me is a wasted year, and a failure like last year was.
  3. I agree the Red Sox don’t look like a playoff contender, and in the process of looking that way after a losing last place in the Div finish the Red Sox raised ticket prices to watch, and to me also not being a playoff contender would be a waste of one of Raffy’s Prime years.
  4. Good summation. I don’t think the new balance schedule will help the team at all, because they will be picking up more good teams that will offset not playing the Yankees, and Toronto as much. The FA the Sox picked up plus Yoshida are a big wish, and hope that they will do better than JD, and Bogey last year, and this year. Anything more than Sale even if healthy being more than a 500 pitcher will be a plus.
  5. There is no way to know if the 2023 version of the Boston Red Sox will be better, or worse than the 2022 version. That’s why the games will be played. The 2023 version is certainly a different team, and Story being out definitely does not help things, but after all the injuries, and lack of production last year I don’t see the 2023 team as being worse. If anything the BP should be an improvement over last year, and the rest we’ll just have to see.
  6. I agree, and I think there is a little misconception that because the Red Sox won’t be playing so many games in the division they will be better off. Some of the games that would have been played in the Div will now be played against other good teams that they wouldn’t have played before, so it’s just not that cut, and dry that the Red Sox will be better off with a different schedule this year.
  7. Trading for JBJ was not selling high, and it cost more to do it. This was a head scratcher before, during, and after it failed.
  8. What about all the emphasis on D in the OF like when they brought JBJ back? Plus the concern of Dugo being able to play RF good enough.
  9. Seiya. Got off to a good start, but tailed off, and had some injuries.
  10. I’m more concerned how Yoshida handles playing that LF wall than his bat to start the season.
  11. A couple of months? I’d give him a couple of years before I’d make any kind of judgement just like Suzuki.
  12. I think that Yoshida getting most of his AB at the WBC is a good thing. He’ll face better pitching than he will in most of ST.
  13. So they have to be a WS winner to be your favorite team? Sorry I disagree.
  14. No doubt 2004 was the best Red Sox moment in our lifetime.
  15. Ok we disagree. I know the 1967 team didn’t end up winning the WS, but when you’ve younger you see things differently. The team was young, and mostly homegrown, and of course there was Yaz. I understand 2004 ended the long suffering drought, but it’s just my opinion that 1967 was my favorite team. By the way 1975 was my second favorite team.
  16. 1967 my favorite Red Sox team of all time, and the start of Red Sox Nation. Look I believe most fans only care about the here, and now. Why do you think JH was boo’d on two separate occasions when he showed his face in public?
  17. Like I’ve said the 4 WS wins don’t make the last place finishes alright.
  18. Forever? A new season hasn’t even started yet, and 2022 is the last year on record. A good start, and a trip to the postseason in 2023 would alleviate that, but a repeat of 2022 would just be a continuation of a bad pattern. I’m hoping for a postseason trip myself, but that’s far from a certainty.
  19. And if everything works out it will be I told you so, and 1 yr to late.
  20. I don’t remember anyone saying not having a good BP was the Main Reason the team sucked. It was A reason among injuries, and lack of production from the big boppers, so if the BP does well, and the team still sucks I would pretty much assume that that the blame will go to whatever, or whoever fails. It won’t be a big mystery.
  21. No it wouldn’t shock me at all if the Red Sox end up worse than last year, but it’s just my point that the goal every year is to make the postseason. I think the pitching going into the season looks better than last year especially the BP, but I don’t think the batting order looks as good as last year going into the season. I don’t see the schedule being any easier this year even though they will be playing less games against the Div.Playing more better teams that you normally wouldn’t be playing will offset that to some degree.
  22. 2021 went better than expected, and 2022 didn’t go as well as expected, and like I’ve repeatedly said that anything less than a winning record, and a trip to the postseason is a failure. This year, last year, or any year.
  23. Skills, but older skills now. When was the last time Sale was a #1, or Ace pitcher 2018?
  24. Not only on the older side, but even if healthy what can you really expect from, Sale, Paxton, and Kluber?
  25. If Turner is the backup 1B/3B to start he season there is no place, or no need for Bobby D to start the season with the Red Sox. He would benefit to being down at AAA getting AB, and working on whatever D position you want to try him.
