If Turner is the backup 1B/3B to start he season there is no place, or no need for Bobby D to start the season with the Red Sox. He would benefit to being down at AAA getting AB, and working on whatever D position you want to try him.

Definitely not. I hope the Red Sox learned their lesson last year with Franchy at 1B, or Arroyo in RF. I do think Bobby D would be better than these two, but not a a legit fill in outside of a game.

To me anything less than a winning record, and a trip to the postseason is as Sam Kennedy called this past season a failure by all.

I’m counting on him being in Portland in early June.

Maybe the reason is I’ve had the common decency, and common sense to take a break, and give everyone else a break, but I noticed reading all the post not everyone did the same thing. Of course they would have to know they did something wrong first. I call things as I see em, and one in particular just can’t stand that, and thinks he’s the judge of what’s right, and wrong. After 60+ years of watching, listening, and reading Al kinds of sports venues I Never seen anything, or anyone like this, and I’m sure he’s been that way since he’s been on here. You told me once that you have put him on timeout, and that’s not surprising at all. All kinds of fans boo’d JH on two separate times in public, and boo’d Bloom once too. Are those bad fans, and do they hate JH, and Bloom? No!, and No! Of course when you analyze every single letter of every single word to try, and come up with the meaning,and then get it wrong more times than not who else does that? Nothing wrong in my view to repeat nicknames that I all heard from somebody else. I don’t need any more innings to say he’s Stinkin Winkin any more than I did Jeter, Franchy, Seabold, or Duran The Butterfly Man. If other do than that’s fine. Like I said on an earlier post there should have been suspensions, and then probations handed out for the relentlessly back, and forth nonsense, and at least I took time off. I’ve been a Red Sox fan for 65 years, and I will continue to be one, and NO One will tell me I can’t, and that’s the bottom line.

Once again your standard operating procedure. Predictable as always. You think deflecting the blame from Bloom to DD it takes the emphasis, and blame off Bloom, and puts it on DD. You have done this 1028 times now to no avail, but you keep trying anyway. It’s already been established more than once that each previous GM have had their share of bad blunders, but Bloom is on year 4 now, and has had more than his share of blunders, and will get blamed accordingly. Keep blaming DD all you want, because obviously it makes you feel better, but it doesn’t change a thing.

Personally I think there are more important things to worry about then where Pivetta slots on a team coming off a losing last place in the Div team. Make him the opening day starter for all I care. He’s been there, and deserves it more than the rest if not for any other reason.

As many times as you have tried, and will try blaming DD, and JH, and his limitations on Bloom, and the nonproductive farm system none of that has, or will make the Red Sox under Bloom a winning competitive team. Bloom has to do that on his own, and so far that has not been good enough, and I doubt it ever will.

Judge got $40M, because he had a record setting year. I can’t see Machado getting close to that who will be 32 in the 2024 season.

How much more can Machado get? Plus he’s older now.

The BIGGEST difference is that Theo, Ben, and DD were all winners. Theo had blunders, Ben had blunders, and DD had his share of blunders, but they ALL WON. Bloom has had his share of blunders, and he’s been a LOSER. Those are facts. No spins just facts.

It would have been great if DD could have locked up all 3 of Betts, Bogey, and Raffy early on, and it would have been cheaper too, but he didn’t, so we can say he failed, and I have no problem with that, but once again that takes nothing away from from what Bloom did, or didn’t do last off season, or the season before that when he could have locked Bogey, and Raffy up. They both failed, but the biggest difference is that DD has been a winner, and Bloom is not, or has not. D D had his own failures, and Bloom has his own too.

But at least JH met Lester out in the parking lot to say goodby.

He liked Boston, and wanted to stay. I don’t think it was anything more than that.
