  1. Very true, and Kike is nothing more that a stopgap himself no matter where he plays.
  2. Bobby D played SS yesterday, and is waiting in the wings in Worcester.
  3. I’m sure Cora will get trashed out the door just like Tito did.
  4. Let’s bring on TB, and see how they stack up, against a better team, and better pitching.
  5. Everyone knew before the season even started that Kike had never been anything close to be a FT SS before with I believe 24 games is the most Kike had ever played there, and some just took it for granted that he would be good there. Duvall has never been a FT CF, but he’s pounding the ball, and hasn’t had many rough chances out in CF there so far. That’s the kind of things that Bloom does when putting together a team just like last year when the Red Sox needed a CF he went out, and got Pham a LF. Kike is not hitting once again, which is a big problem too along with Casas, and Arroyo. Yoshida hasn’t exactly been knocking the cover off the ball either, and has hit more ping pong balls to the IF then anything else.
  6. That I get, but like I said at the present Kike is not hitting, and he didn’t hit much last year either, so to me that would have to change before he plays anywhere.
  7. One of them would have to sit if Kike went back to the OF as some have suggested.
  8. He sucked last year with the bat too, and that was before he was injured. I can’t see any of Duvall, Dugy, Yoshida, or Turner sitting the way things are going at the present.
  9. Kike is just not fielding he is not hitting either, so if he’s not at SS I don’t see him playing much at all.
  10. I didn’t see the game today, but looking at the box score it looks like a few guys did some raking, and Houck pitched decent.
  11. Streakman today. 0.1 3H 4 ER Sold him high.
  12. You’re probably right. I forgot about the Kut Man.
  13. Houck’s last start for a while?
  14. Someone’s going to have to go somewhere to make room for Whit next week, and Bello shortly after.
  15. It will be a good first test for him in Tampa next week.
  16. I’d say the BP has been surprisingly good from the guys not named Jansen, Martin, and Schreiber.
  17. Glad to see Jansen get into the game today. He needed some work.
  18. Like I said the biggest question to me with Kike is can he hit enough to stay in the lineup, and not where he plays. Everyone is speculating that if Story, and Mondesi get back that Kike would just automatically stay in the lineup, and move back to CF full time. I don’t see it as it stands right now.
  19. I’m more concerned if Kike is going to hit then where he plays. He’s a backup SS playing it FT.
  20. Did not panic after Sale’s first time out, and not excited about his performance today facing the banjo hitting lineup. Be good to get a win though.
  21. Kike has never played more than 24 games in a season at SS, so not much of a book on him.
  22. We complain about not adding players, but it could be worse. The Red Sox just played 2 teams with good young talent, but ownership won’t spend much money to improve.
  23. I’m not panicking yet, but getting the broom by Pittsburg at home was not a good look, and not the start the Red Sox needed, or wanted. They already were booed on opening day, and a bad road trip that they have coming up especially doing bad against TB will not be pretty when they come home. A for Sale day tomorrow, and it better be better than an open house.
  24. The hitting definitely did tail off for some, and never got started for others. Yoshida, Casas, Arroyo, and Kike, so take your pick.
  25. I don’t think the Story signing was a planned thing in the beginning, and just an afterthought when he was still available. I don’t think other clubs were beating down any doors with big offers for Story, and there was some talk out there that Story really didn’t want to come to Boston, and fired his agent shortly after the deal.
