  1. Yes it was only 1 game, but every game counts, and the season is getting shorter. The thing is, which I’ve been saying for a long time now is that the players, coaches, and manager is playing for right now. I wouldn’t have blamed any of them last night if they all would have walked off the field, and looked up, and gave Bloom the middle finger as they did. I’ll worry about next year when this season is over. To me keeping Turner is a must despite Yoshida, Raffy, and Casas deficiencies on D. It wouldn’t bother me at all to see them trade Yoshida for some starting pitching. Turner’s bat should play for a couple more years, and produce more than Yoshida anyway.
  2. A WC slot was there for the taking. Before last night the only 2 teams ahead of them who have been playing good ball was Tampa, and Seattle, but going 3-5 just in their last 8 games isn’t going to do it. The Yankees sweep helped them at the moment, but they lost 2out of 3 to Washington before that, so that’s 7-6 the last 13 games. Not good enough, and with the schedule they have left I just don’t see them getting, or being good enough to win enough to get in. Haven’t given up until it mathematically impossible, but the Red Sox have dug themselves a hole all year long.
  3. I still felt the game itself left an impression one way, or the other on every Sox fan out there. Certainly on here, and I’ll bet on Cora, the coaches, and players too. Remember Raffy, and Jansen said the team needed pitching help. I sure there was more including Cora who felt the same way, but didn’t come out, and say it. They were right, and yes they know more than Bloom. What impression do you think they all have today? It’s probably a lot worse than BOHICA.
  4. Do you have a better word for it?
  5. Well that game certainly left an impression on everyone from the players, and coaches to the fans in the stands, and to everyone in Red Sox Nation last night, and not a good impression either. I can sum it up with one word. BOHICA.
  6. Now Max that was a gutsy effort by the Claw Man. All guts, and no glory.
  7. 84 pitches in just 3 innings. I guess Cora wants to make sure the Claw Man can’t pitch again. Wow!
  8. Give the Claw Man credit. He threw 67 pitches of batting practice over just 2 innings.
  9. What do you think the other players in the field are thinking right now?
  10. Everyone was waiting for the injured pitches to come back, which they did, but both Sale, and Houck have both added more extra work by the BP by being on pitch counts, and not going very deep.
  11. It’s pretty bad when the Claw Man is first out of the pen in an important game, or even on the team at all. Where’s the Bra Man when you need him?
  12. It works both ways, and made the pitcher throw a lot more pitches too.
  13. Duvall won’t take a 1 year next year.
  14. Let’s not get carried away with Yoshida’s two hits. One was a gift, because the pitcher couldn’t pick up a ball he’d already fumbled.
  15. Hamilton also back up for Reyes.
  16. They did take him to arbitration too.
  17. His base this year is $20M. Like I said something could have been worked out.
  18. Yes the length of Judge’s contract was insane just like Bogey’s was. The good of the team , short, and long term should have been to include Mookie, and to me that would have been over Raffy if you could only have one, but like I keep saying if you don’t want to pay to play then take your money, and go home. As I said in an earlier post Mookie has a lot of deferred money in his contract, so it’s not all being payed out in 12 years. Something could have, and should have been worked out by the Red Sox.
  19. These two teams aren’t just two big market teams. They are the Red Sox, and the Yankees.
  20. To me it still had to be done if it turns out good, or bad. Judge will go down as one of the Yankee all time greats unless career threatening injuries takes it away from him. Same with Mookie who would have gone down as one of the Red Sox all time greats. To me those guys you keep especially when Mookie was still in the prime of his career. Once again a trade that can’t be defended, and a stain that can’t be erased.
  21. We hope NY will regret signing Judge, but it’s something that had to be done just like it should have been something the Red Sox should have done with Mookie. Judge isn’t the problem the Yankees have sucked this year outside of his toe injury, but what’s around him. I don’t think the Yankees are in for any big rebuild. Stanton would have been the bad signing to me. Enjoy the Yankees misery while you can.
  22. Either way it was a small market team move, and not something that should have come from a big market team. Especially the Boston Red Sox. The Yankees ponied up for Judge, which hasn’t made a difference this year, but imagine the uproar in NY if that wouldn’t have happened.
  23. As expected Masa is in the lineup tonight batting cleanup, which I don’t get batting ahead of Duvall, and Casas. The LR thing is overrated sometimes.
  24. It’s not like Mookie is getting all $365M in 12 years either. There is a lot of deferred money in all of this. I believe his base salary this year is $20M
