  1. Like I said the other day none of us know the whole story in all of this, but my opinion is that both the Red Sox, and Mookie got what they wanted. Like someone said the other day don’t listen to what someone says, but watch what they do.
  2. Nor should they. The biggest question is can they climb out of that hole that they dug for themselves. Leaping 3-4 teams is a lot harder than 1. Only taking 2 out of three against Houston only gains you 1 game. You can’t expect someone else to do it for you.
  3. The starters are struggling, and the BP is starting to throw more pitches too. As good as Martin has been he threw 29 pitches in an inning the other night, which is a lot for 1 inning. Pitchers thrown some times is more important that how many innings are pitched.
  4. I don’t know who will be following this guy, but he hasn’t pitched more than an inning all year, so you don’t have to overthink think this, and start more RHH.
  5. The choice was made before Bloom got there.
  6. I agree with this, but the other part too is did Mookie really want to stay in Boston? He’s talking a good game now, but his actions speak a different story. I think both side’s actually got what they wanted.
  7. I brought this up yesterday about the lineup going forward, and who was going to sit. Cora was rotating before with Duran, and I said at the time I didn’t think it was doing anybody any good. Duvall has gotten hot since, and Dugy has been better since back in the leadoff spot. Masa, and Casas has not been hot, but Cora will play everyone.
  8. Cora likes to keep all involved.
  9. If Abreu were to play it would come down to Masa, or Casas sitting to me.
  10. Nothing but good things to say about the Sox, but what about Boston?
  11. Losing Fisk like they did was a total cluster f—-.
  12. There has been so many stories out there then, and now, so what to believe is anyones guess, and who to blame. DD, JH, Mookie, or two of them, or all three.
  13. I think John has slowed down as he’s gotten older. He used to be more helpful like showing up on Felger, and Mazz to help boost their ratings, and meeting Lester out in the parking lot. I just don’t see him doing that today. Probably send Sam.
  14. Do you think JH will be there to greet him?
  15. As long as Mookie is playing baseball, and probably years after he is done, and goes into the HOF there will be woulda, coulda, and shoulda Mookie talk in Boston. Especially since he’s in town for the first time since he left town that’s all the more reason. Next to the Babe, Mookie is probably the 2nd biggest blunder in Red Sox history.
  16. One thing that no one has mentioned this year with all of Raffy’s ups, and downs is that he’s stayed healthy. You always cringe at one of his mighty swings that a pull is just a moment away.
  17. Cora was rotating when Duran was still in the lineup, so I suspect he will still do the same. Big difference though is that Duvall has gotten hot, and Masa is not.
  18. What a difference 2 days have made. The Red Sox dropped the first 2 games to Houston, and had dropped 4+5 games back to the teams ahead of them in the wildcard, and now they are 2+3 games back to the two teams ahead of them for the wildcard after taking the last two from Houston. Big change in just two days. From gloom, and doom to hope, and promise again. Who knows what happens from here, because things have gone back, and fourth so many times this year.
  19. Between DH, and rest he’s had time off.
  20. To rest him again, or to bench him.
  21. Speaking of hot bats. Is there any bat hotter than Mookie’s right now? Hope it doesn’t rain on his parade tomorrow, because the forecast is not looking to promising.
