  1. That’s what I asked earlier. How many stats would there really be in any sport if someone wasn’t watching somewhere somehow?
  2. The eye test makes me chuckle too. I’ve never said it was the be all end all. All I’ve ever said was it was good enough for me, and some just don’t like that. Like that makes any difference, or not, and it’s never changed anything.
  3. I know watching on TV is different, but I just didn’t put it in green. How would anyone know if some batter got a hit, or grounded into a DP? Eye test, and stats come from that. How would anyone know if pitcher struck out a batter, and with what pitch? Eye test, and stats come from that. How would anyone know if a runner stole a base, or got thrown out by the catcher? Eye test, and stats come from that. How would anyone know if a IF booted a ground ball, or made a throwing error? Eye test, and stats come from that. How would anyone know how much range a SS, or a CF has, or what kind of arms they have? Eye test. How would anyone know what went on in a game anywhere if someone wasn’t watching? Eye test. How many stats would you really have if someone wasn’t watching somewhere?
  4. I can’t believe that eye test in person, and watching on TV are two different things, but to say watching on TV is hardly worth anything I don’t believe is accurate at all. What did any analytic stat tell you that doing the eye test from TV didn’t when it came to how bad Kike was at SS last year, or how bad Raffy, and Casas was on D last year not to mention Franchy Strangeglove try to play 1B. Now I’ll admit being in person is better that watching on TV, but to say the eye test from TV is far from hardly worth anything. Then again it depends who’s watching.
  5. I don’t get angry, and it’s just so amusing that bells, and whistles have to go off in the first place when I mention old time stats. Getting angry just go back a few post when someone didn’t like me saying BTV is useless to me. That was getting angry.
  6. Eye test, eye test, eye test still beats them all.
  7. You’ve been at it a lot longer than I have. Once again bells, and whistles went off, because i mentioned RBI, and that was fine, but if I diss analytics, or the precious BTV it’s a crime. 🙈🤭🤮.
  8. Like I’ve said before if you like it it’s fine for you, but to me it’s just a useless toy. RBI, and BA sets off bells, and whistles whenever I mention it. That’s fine for me, and if anyone wants to use more advanced analytics, and it works for you that’s fine too, but I don’t use it, or need it.
  9. 👍👍👍 I’m still waiting for a BTV accepted trade to actually happen.
  10. You’re glad. Cora’s glad. Dugy’s glad. The Yankees are glad. A win, win all the way around.
  11. Did anyone say it didn’t?? I just pointed out that it isn’t all that easy to replace JT’s, or Renfroe production, and they haven’t Your guy JBJ certainly didn’t replace Renfroe’s production.
  12. The thing that counts the most above all the fancy stats you can come up with. Runs on the scoreboard.
  13. JT tailed off at the end. I don’t know if his foot problem helped with that, or not, but which one of the young guys are going to get 90+ RBI, and do the other things he did. The Red Sox still haven’t replaced Renfroe’s 90+ RBI. It isn’t that easy. Who knows what Duval would have ended up with either if he hadn’t gotten hurt.
  14. And does it look like JH is going to pay in cash?
  15. Except for Gio that would be a damm cheap starting rotation.
  16. At the moment it seems more likely than not.
  17. All top prospects? The bottom line is this. If the Red Sox don’t sign any of the top high priced FA pitchers, which I have said all along I don’t believe they will then how to you propose the Red Sox are going to make the rotation better unless you make trades?
  18. Who’s to say the Red Sox have to trade 3 guys for 1 young pitcher? BTV? JH is not going to spend anymore than he wants to regardless.
  19. Who’s to say the Sox would overpay? Mayer, or none of the others are no sure thing. Maybe it’s the other team that would overpay.
  20. That’s why JH would be more inclined to want to do it.
  21. I don’t blame him, because he doesn’t have his bodyguard Bloom to take the barbs for him this year.
  22. As I’ve said right along I’ve been gong on the assumption that the Red Sox were not going to sign any of the top high priced FA, so what other options are there except to trade?
  23. That’s what Bres, and all his minions get paid the big bucks for to find.
  24. Now you’re finally getting it.
  25. I get that, but I’ve said right along to trade top prospects for other teams top pitching prospects, and that Henry could be more inclined to go with since it would be just as cheap as to hang to a Mayer type.
