  1. Did you pound your thumb again? The president of the league did not hold pitchers back, so they could pitch in the All Star Game, because of viewership, or revenue. How you come up with that is mind boggling. The players from both leagues wanted to win, and both leagues wanted to win. Did it count in any standings, or anything no, but bragging rights meant a lot to both the players, and the leagues.🙈🤭
  2. I will bet you that Chapman wasn’t on the Red Sox radar, or even discussed this past offseason.
  3. We’ve gone over this a 100 times. The Red Sox already had a $18M DH. They already had a $300M 3B, and a young 1B who most likely will be there for a long time. There was no room for Chapman, and more importantly no room in the Budget for Chapman. It was NEVER going to happen. The Red Sox are playing the cards they have dealt themselves. Injuries happen, and have happened, but Chapman was Never coming to Boston.🤭🙈
  4. Back in the day it was NOT a meaningless exhibition game to the players, or the leagues. I remember 1 year when I believe the AL president told the teams to hold the better pitches back from pitching in the weekend before the All Star Game, so they would be available to pitch in the All Star game. That’s how serious it was back in the day, and far from a meaningless exhibition game.
  5. Making the winner getting home field was stupid, and i don’t think it made it matter anymore. The Great players were the show, but the great players wanted to win also, which made the fans more interested too. I would have loved to see Mays, Aaron, Roberto, Gibby, Koufax, Juan all play at Fenway, but today I don’t think for me there is anyone that is must see. Even with the Red Sox my first game I wanted to see Yaz, but today there is no one to me that is must see.
  6. Most importantly Brez didn’t.
  7. The All Star Game did used to be a real big deal that both sides wanted badly to win. Now it’s just a meaningless exhibition game if that.
  8. Who would you want to see now? Mookie, the Big O?
  9. 👍👍👍. Ah the good old days.
  10. As always will this be a Sale Day, or a For Sale Day?
  11. Nice easy win for the C’s tonight, and go B’s tomorrow night. Red Sox win some, lose some, win some, lose some.
  12. When Moon gets giddy things usually turn s*****. 5 LOB for Nevers tonight.🙈🤭🤮
  13. The ONLY fair way to do it is take away the divisions, and have everyone play the same schedule, and then take the top 4 teams.
  14. Agree on not having three wildcards, and it does cheapen the regular season. Like you said xtra wildcards are just to make money. As always though you should always play to get in, and if not don’t play at all.
  15. No problem with that if the Red Sox didn’t have any chance at the Postseason, but the last two years the Red Sox did. Didn’t Raffy, and some other players say they needed help last year at the deadline? Like I keep saying if you’re not playing to get in it then why play at all.
  16. If it makes you feel better then go for it.
  17. Houston doesn’t have to be in our Div to get a wildcard. I’m not even thinking about the Div. A little dab will do ya, so any wildcard spot will do.
  18. If you’re not going to play to get in, and win then don’t play at all. The last two years the Red Sox were in shouting distance at the trade deadline you know when you were predicting the 80+ wins last year. It didn’t work out, and the Red Sox dropped off after the trade deadline. The players were pissed when Vaz got traded, so at the time NO. It’s worked out good since though.
  19. Selling has always been a wishful topic on here with a chance to bring in more prospects. The eye candy for most on here.
  20. Some teams are down this year like the Jays, Rays, and Houston, so this is not a typical year like was predicted.
  21. I get that, but all that matters is where the Red Sox are at near the trading deadline, and for me I’ll just wait, and see.
  22. I don’t put much stock in projecting wins especially this early in the season, and so many things can, and have happened already. Predictions didn’t turn out very well the last two seasons, and that was done later in the year. I do agree with the rest though.
  23. I could understand the selling talk this past offseason, because it was pretty much assumed the team was going to suck, but definitely not now.
  24. To me it shouldn’t matter so much of what the record is, but where are you in proximity of making the postseason. The last two years they were in striking distance.
