  1. Never thought I’d here John Henry’s name used in the same sentence as Harry Frazee
  2. I believe that they have a plan and it’s right in front of us, the Rays plan, have one or two players with draw appeal (Franco now Kiermaier soon to be gone) invest in pitching, and have a few prospects with cheap minor league contracts, and some low cost one year free agents and hope you catch lightning in a bottle
  3. They have done this a few years now, my only bitch is it takes an overpriced ticket and over prices it, I only see a few games a year so it doesn’t effect me that much, just checked ticket prices for remaining games, looks like big discounts on all tickets,
  4. This is just an observation, the Sox because of greed have what they call a tier structure for ticket prices that’s to say if Texas or Pittsburgh are at Fenway you pay the standard ticket price. A team with some draw appeal like the Angles are the middle tier and the Yankees, Dodgers, Cardinals and the like are top tier, you pay as much as $40 or $50 more for the same seat for top tier teams, and when the Sox are going good people gladly pay those prices because tickets from other sources are even higher priced, So when the Sox are constantly sending me emails for hugely discounted tickets and season tickets, someone has taken notice in the organization that revenue is down.
  5. That could be why they are releasing everybody lately, they were over the lux tax this year if they get under they get reset and the tax isn’t calculated until the end of the year
  6. What makes things difficult is is that the lux tax cap only went up $3,000,000.00 and players salaries are climbing at a crazy rate to build in spurts like he has in the past and not having those 4 or 5 players locked in, is going to get harder and much more expensive
  7. I agree, but that tv money that they get from mlb every year would pay the lux tax plus sign Bogaerts Devers, Judge and Betts if he was avalible 100,000,000.00 is quite a kickback every year from mlb isn’t this money’s intention to improve the team
  8. All the years Henry overspent coincide with the years that he won championships except 2013
  9. They have had him at first base on occasion, no errors yet but only a small sample
  10. The Sox have another catcher Renoldo Hernandez they are very high on, I think the only reason we haven’t seen him is because he’s a minor league free agent this year
  11. Looked like the Sox the other night on that HR, nobody thinking
  12. Refresh my memory I don’t remember that
  13. Thank you, I never thought about that scenario till the other day and it was bugging me
  14. Does anyone know the answer to this rule question, I’m not sure, when Wacha started the other night there was a situation with 2 outs and a man on third, the batter hit a slow roller down the first base line Wacha picked it up, if he threw it to first it would have been a forced third out and no scored run, but instead he decided to tag the hitter out, the question I have is if the run scored before the tag out would the run have counted, I know that that is usually the case but this is the batter and first base, I’ve never heard of the run scoring in this situation, has it ever happened before? I guess it comes down to if the man never reaches base can the run score on the third out
  15. Hey, sorry about throwing you under the bus the other night, I know it wasn’t your intention with the post but it was the effect
  16. You know the luxury cap tax today really isn’t much of a penalty, because every MLB team is guaranteed a least $100 million payment from baseball for TV rights every year, yes every year
  17. The Sox have been over the luxury tax 11 times for a grand total tax of around $50 million, in comparison the Dodgers tax for last year alone was $40 million, on a $340 million payroll,
  18. Case in point
  19. I wasn’t zeroing in on him, he just happened to be the person that I responded to I would have said the same to whoever replied
  20. Sure it is, but you all say the same thing, get original have your own thoughts be entertaining instead of blah blah blah, and saying the same things over and over and over again, stop trying to intimidate others with endless numbers and useless facts and figures, like you said it’s a chat board not GMs in training
  21. There seems to be a lot of armchair GMs and not many real Sox fans here
  22. Well Blooms at it again he was on the Greg Hill show 93.7 weei and he’s already walking back what he told Kiki about next year being a better team, he says he has no control over that, someone should let this guy know what’s in his job description, granted he doesn’t have control over injuries, but the roster, free agent signings, draft picks, resigning players, wire pickups are all his. You can’t get any more vanilla than this guy he doesn’t walk the walk or talk the talk. So Sox fans, I really hate to say this, don’t get excited, just wait till next year
  23. I think you a interpreting this rule slightly wrong, the batter has to be in the box and ready for the pitch with 8 seconds remaining for the pitcher or be penalized
  24. They did, you have the 3 batter rule
