  1. Your probably right on that but it’s not the time if they are honestly trying to compete the rest of the year to be dumping pitchers Sawamura .325 ERA isn’t bad,
  2. A two headed beast, Cora talks about winning series while Bloom tanks it, two more players DFA, Davis and Sawamura both have struggled lately but did a decent job until recently. Replaced by Ort 9.00 ERA and a pitcher that’s never been in the show, so how can Cora and the Sox hope to win with Bloom trading away pitchers, and replacing them with AAA players that have done worse than the players DFA’d in Sawamura’s case it was more because of contract incentives he didn’t want to pay. DFA a player to get out of contract incentives real classy guy.
  3. That team had just won three al east titles in a row and a World Series they have one year they play .500 ball and you panic if you think about it Betts was the big bucks, he got traded I think they could have gotten more especially with Sox picking up half of Price money but I understand that move but Benny was low cost they signed Xander anyways and they let Bradley walk, everything good so far except Benny, Moreland free agent, Holt gone to, so the team needs two outfielders first baseman and second baseman in three years we have filled the second base position, this is what bothers me, Hose I believe is a free agent, Kiki free agent, give me two outfielders and a first baseman three guys that are good quality players at their position, Freddy Freeman is not necessary it’s been way to long, that’s not asking for a lot, I didn’t mention the pitchers because it’s a different can of worms
  4. Count this teams losses at the end of the season then talk to me, it makes as much sense as what you make up there’s no way you could know all the Red Sox financial transactions and their many expenses unless you work for them I doubt the Red Sox have one person with all that knowledge in their head,
  5. The 2019 team won a World Series in 18 and had a 84-78 record in 19 and cost 243 mil this years team has a 60-62 record in last place and cost 4 million less than the 2019 team you can make all the excuses you want, and write an answer 2000 words long, the bottom line is still the same he cut the budget in 3 years by 4 million and gave us a non competitive team
  6. Sorry I was wrong on the 2019 number but your numbers actually make it worse he cut an additional 7 million from 2019 so he had an additional 7 mil to spend he’s within 4 million of the Red Sox highest payroll and has a team that’s not competitive
  7. Yea they went from 24th to 19th, a good farm doesn’t necessarily mean a good team look at the pirates, 8th best farm
  8. 2019 budget $236,000,000 2020 budget $189,000,000, 2021 budget $$209,000,000 2022 budget $239,000,000 he cut the budget, now it’s higher than when he took over so why aren’t we competitive, where did he spend the money it doesn’t show on the field, and the woosox are a .500 team
  9. Let’s see Bogarts wanted to renegotiate the team offered 1 year at the end of his contract for 30 mil he said no, next thing we know everyone is talking about the team trading him it got so bad even Rice, Pedro and Boris got involved I don’t understand why you didn’t hear this everyone else in New England heard about it, if Bogaerts opted out of his contract they would have let him leave and not negotiated
  10. When you trade away major league quality ball players and don’t get quality players to replace them you only have one direction to go, and trading Betts, Benintendi, Vasquez, when their contracts were up and DFA for Bradley doesn’t show any loyalty Betts wanted a lot, but Benny was making $867,000 and was asking for 4.5 million, we got winckowski, maybe a 4 or 5 starter in the future and Franchy, Benny turned into an all star, Vasquez was making 4.4 million, McGuire that they got to replace him is making $722,400 with control until 2026 he’s not better just cheaper, an organization that was loyal to its players would not have traded one away in the middle of the night and the other during an interview, and then threaten Bogaerts with a trade when he wanted to renegotiate, these tactics are not good for any team too flourish and can only alienate the players
  11. im glad that you will understand this, the 2018 championship team was having an off year in 2019 so bloom took over, since taking over every player on that team except 1 that has had a contract come up has been traded or allowed to walk Xander gave them a sweetheart deal and was signed but now he’s talking about a extension they are ready to get rid of him, the prospects that he has received are mostly tier 3 players, that means they have raw talent but not complete ball players and are not predicted to be major league talent, he made a good pickup in Renfroe .259 31 bombs and 96 rbi, low salary and control until end of 2023 season, then traded him for JBJ, this organization has shown no respect or loyalty to any of its homegrown players that they demand loyalty from, the kids in the minors are not blind they see how their peers are being treated and know what’s in store for them. The problem with his free agent hiring seem to be quantity over quality and when he gets a good one they are only on a 1 year deal and he can’t keep them Wacha is a good example 1 year deal 7 or 8 million, the organization has also diluted the talent on the Sox and lowered the moral of the team. So I guess this is why we are where we are. I can go on about this but there’s no sense in beating a dead horse
  12. What do you mean holes, we’ve been training Dalbec at second we have Cordero for Dh and if we play our cards right maybe we can swing a trade with the Jays for JBJ
  13. You keep saying I’m blaming Bloom I haven’t mentioned him I’ve been talking about a team with no identity and heading in a sketchy direction, that can’t make up it mind what it wants to be, if that’s bashing Bloom then I guess I’m guilty. And you know if Bloom had been honest with himself and the team and he’s as wonderful as you say he is then he should have known and talked to Henry, I’m sure he could have found some money to stay out of the cellar
  14. I didn’t mean to say he was the answer only that they recognized the need
  15. I saw a need for a first baseman last year. And so did the Sox but they let him walk
  16. There is no doubt that injuries hurt but that’s not the whole problem, this was a pretty good core but the supporting cast was terrible, the trade for JBJ was unnecessary and hurt the outfield they needed a first baseman an outfielder and some sort of a closer, they didn’t need to empty the bank on these players just better players and I don’t think that we would be in last place,
  17. You usually get a pretty good player for $140 million three or 4 of those is a start where the Sox usually fall down is they don’t spend enough on the supporting players they try and make do with Cordero and Dalbec types
  18. I don’t know if that’s possibly to do year in and year out, oh you can catch lightning in a bottle now and then, the 2013 team in my opinion was an over achiever, the teams with the best players will be the teams making the most WS appearances
  19. These huge long contracts are now a part of baseball and everyone has to live with them, that doesn’t mean we have to like them.
  20. I think long contracts are a hindrance to a team, it’s not so much the amount it’s the length, a 6 year $300 million contract is much easier to digest than a 12 year $300 million contract, I firmly believe that if you want to win the owners need to open their wallets, the simple solution would have been to pay the 6 home grown guys we had but ownership chose not to spend, these big contracts are an evil that all the owners brought upon themselves now they have to live with them or hide behind the salary cap. Has anyone heard what’s up with the Downs injury
  21. I stand corrected, but maybe they should it might make them easier to swallow, otherwise these contracts will eventually harm baseball
  22. All the players on these big contracts have opt out’s in the first few years because they don’t want to leave a penny on the table, maybe it’s time the teams get an opt out near the end of the contract when the players are declining, seems fair to me
  23. 190 million is a lot of money and raising the cap to $250 million will help, but I think it’s too little too late, with the salaries climbing to ridiculous levels I can’t imagine a guy batting .254 with 22 HR turning down over $400,000,000,00 to play a child’s game. They owners lost an opportunity to cap players salaries during negotiations, so how do you build a team and stay under the cap and win, you don’t. The teams spending and getting the best players available for their teams will be teams going to and winning the championships. I’m not for large contracts, nobody is worth that money just imagine a $300,000,000.00 contract for ten years 30 million a year, if the player gets 500 at bats that’s $60,000.00 per at bat ( I realize that because of taxes and other expenses it actually won’t be that high) a lot of people don’t make that much in a year in this country. The Yankees are the next team to make a choice if they sign or don’t sign judge
  24. Totally agree, if the Yankees let Judge go they would look as stupid as the Sox do for trading Betts
