  1. Sorry I was talking about the Orioles
  2. Most stadiums have multiple access roads, these people said they were uncomfortable sitting on a highway with vehicles going by at 75 mph
  3. Isn’t that the Ray way, guys power numbers declining, free agent this year, trade him get what you can, they realize that they are not going to the World Series this year.
  4. I’ve never been there but friends have said the problem is getting in and out, only one way in and out and at game times the traffic gets backed up all the way onto the highway. One road in and 18,000 people showing up at about the same time
  5. You know who did a great job, the Orioles they are playing very good have the number 1 farm system and the lowest payroll in baseball and an owner that will spend, nice place to be GM they are $193,000,000.00 under the luxury tax they could afford to sign Judge easily if they wanted,
  6. You said the pirates would suck even if they spent $200 million this winter, I just pointed out that they have a very good farm system and their payroll is $30 million less than the Rays and their owner is cheaper than the Rays so we’ll never know
  7. You know the Pirates have the 4th best farm system,
  8. I once heard someplace that the players have to pay taxes to multiple states because they are considered to be working in that state when playing away games in other states, not sure but it sounds right
  9. The point I was trying to make was the Rays could use that as a way to offer a lower salary on signings because their net would be higher than other states, but what you said is true
  10. Especially since there is no state income tax, you would think the players would want to be there, maybe they do and no one wants to spend
  11. I understand that, but with their welfare payments from mlb it pays all payroll and they have 50 million or so left over some big 1 or 2 year contracts for a championship would be possible, but they don’t even try, just put that welfare money in the owners pocket, I don’t like the ray way, by the way the Sox get 100 million too, plus they own the tv station
  12. Tampa has a payroll of about 75 million if they truly wanted a championship its within their reach whenever they want it, if the Sox or any other organization had a contending team and could spend 160 million and still be under the luxury tax that’s the ideal position to be in, so the only reason they haven’t won is because they are cheap and payroll is all that really matters to them, it doesn’t matter if they win they just collect their revenue sharing from the league and the $100,000,000.00 from tv rights this year every team is guaranteed this under the new mlb contract, so don’t tell me about their budget, their on welfare
  13. 0 wins to 4 wins, in the big one no body remembers who finished second, and every time they were there did they try to improve the next year, no they just keep plugging along, never a champion. With their small payroll they could have added top notch players during one of those runs to win a title but they didn’t, so winning wasn’t the most important thing payroll was
  14. That’s their problem they don’t care about winning, just payroll, instead of paying their players and keeping a team together and trying to win a championship they just trade them, and hope to stay status quo, under the ray way David Ortiz would never have been a hall of famer at least not as a Red Sox
  15. Cordero has been out of minor league options since early 2021 and he’s been going back and forth for over a year without one, I guess the other 29 GM’s don’t view him the same as bloom or they would have claimed him by now
  16. Where you been, they did
  17. Paxton is on a 1 year deal no guarantee that he will resign, and this is Sales first opt-out year, Sale has a lot of deferred money on his contract 40 or 50 million to be paid around 2035 and I don’t know if he would lose that deferred money if he doesn’t complete his contract or not
  18. Well said
  19. Wacha was a good deal to bad it was for one year ( no foresight) and he had to pitch on a team that went nowhere
  20. I’m talking players on the field, not pitching, that we’re there in the spring, you ask why he’s getting bashed so hard, I told you why, deal with it, it’s not just me but most of Red Sox nation. You can’t even talk about the Sox without somebody in the group saying fire Bloom, thats from one end of the state to the other
  21. The reason everybody blames Bloom is because he did little to improve the team on the field over the winter (spent on pitching) in fact because of the Renfroe trade he made it weaker, if the team that was on the field today or something similar started in the spring I doubt the bashing would be going on, today’s infield, two .250 25 hr guys for the outfield, a genuine dh, keep Pham, Verdugo, Wheeler, refsnyder, Arroyo and spend the rest on pitching and I think Redsox fans would stop bashing.
  22. I would too but not for the same reasons as you, the guys got heart, he was knocked out last month in a collision with another player, he was stabbed last winter and he has an eye disease called keratoconus that impairs his vision in many ways. So yes I agree Tommy is great, for overcoming adversity
  23. Why would it be easier the other teams in the division would be playing the same weakened schedule, the Sox could have a higher win % but so would the other teams in the division, they would still be in last place unless they actually get better
  24. You don’t need to trade anyone to get a free agent
  25. Instead of trading away Boston’s top prospects how about they spend some money on free agents, there are potentially 280 players eligible for free agency among them are 161 pitchers let’s see how good he is at free agents
