This situation of surplus MLB experienced back up infielders ( several of whom are now starting for an over .500 team most of 2024) emphasizes that Breslow needs to convert one or more or a basket full into some form of mid level pitching help. Maybe Grissom is the bench player to keep him upright. I'm sure this will be sorted out in ST.

Isn't it a wonderful feeling that going into ST 2025, your MI/DP combo will be Trevor Story and Vaughn Grissom ? Assuming you have 2 bench MI's on the 26, you have lots of choices: R. Gonzalez, D. Hamilton, E. Valdez, N. Sogard and even J. Westbrook. Then there is Marcello Mayer , not even on the 40 man yet. Sorry MM , no room for you and we can't just sit you on the bench. That looks like 8 players for 2 starters and 2 bench boys. The other 4 can man WooSox until the April injury bug bites the top 2 again.

Here it is in a nutshell, the position players turned over 7-2 lead , after 7 innings. 6 outs to go. The combined relievers used coughed up 5 runs in regulation, including 2 HR's , forced a 10th inning and promptly gave up 2 more including an HR. 7 runs while accumulating 9 outs, allowing 3 HRs Hamilton made an error allowing a run in the 8th , with 2 outs. Hamilton/Rafaela do not make the 9th inning DP and Wink gives up a 3run, 2 out HR immediately after. Pitching and defense but that is a broken record.

Neither of whom is likely to be there next year . But you will see the Winks, Boosers, Bernies, Kelly's and others who cannot get 3 outs in an inning

Zack Kelly is my other candidate for SoS reliever of the year. Always good for the big fly. Breslow really has handed AC some trash

WTF does any of that inning have to do with Cora. Sogard says he can't gut it out, Rafaela gets all excited and blows it, but not near as bad as Wink who allowed 2 hits to open the inning . He only can get 2 outs , never 3.

Plays not made, Sogard hurt, Rafaela to SS throws high on a DP. Then Winckowski , one of the supreme 2 out pitchers , never 3 outs, blows a 3 run lead. He is truly crap on a stick

Maybe when things get all messed up for the Sox, we can call it a 503 situation. Right now Tanner Houck is skating on the thin ice of a 501 situation. Playing from behind earlyis an endless loop with the Red Sox

Sox are now 1 back of the Royals for WC 3, and 1 up on the Mariners ( 2 in loss column). But still 2 below .500 at home. Go figure.

Crawford with an excellent game , but once the no hitter was busted, he melted like ice cream on the sidewalk. Still , he set up a win, though leaving a clean up in aisle 4.

Got home just in time to see Kutter's former no hitter through 5 and the 5 run Boston 5th. All very welcome signs. Need to close this one out for a series win.

Don't confuse some statements with undue criticisms. Ref was exactly the right guy to end that BP travesty, and he did. I enjoy the true pros in the game unlike some of these hackers like the 0-9 Devers and Yoshida
