  1. Good ol' Vaughn Grissom tearing it up for LAA. .645 OPS but 15 RBIs and 2 HRs in just iver 100 ABs on another terrible team.
  2. Breslow , in his 3rd season, was a default choice it seems . As a former player you would have thought he could see real players better than the stat mastertons. He should have been able to communicate with ballplayers on their level. But clearly the Yalie is a misfit in his current role and won't be there for the winter of 2026-27
  3. Sogard is a great example of a AAAA player. Nice to have for flexibility but do not count on them to perform as front line starters day in- day out
  4. Try Competing for a chip then The point was and still is, only W-L's matter over a season
  5. Yeah, Mickey hit hard and got a run home. Could not have done better. Well, maybe a hit but we can't have everything
  6. Allows 2 of 2 inherited runners to score. But it was Suarez who gave up a 2 out walk followed by an HR in 5th and opened 6th with triple and put mor-on
  7. Weissert to the rescue , get 3 outs with no ball hit Note that after Duran and Rafaela's HRs, no Sox runs have been created, but it is still early
  8. Game on the line because Atlanta can reach the wall not the warning track or way less
  9. Anyone notice that other than 1st inning, Suarez allowed 2 out baserunners in each inning. Olson's HR was almost predictable
  10. 3 of those are long gone. 1 admits he struggles at bat with every move up in class. 1 is fragile, and 1 is maturing into a good player
  11. 2 of our first 3 hitters went full yard. The 3rd went to a warning track death. Maybe the Sox read the story on Talksox about why they weren't hitting sharply
  12. A fact that is happening without known injury to Narvaez or Wong If anyone had made that call on April 1 , it would have been a joke
  13. Short of getting lucky, this outcome is certainly possible. The only help is that 3 of those 8 are on the road, not Failure Fenway.
  14. Excellent article by Yirsandy Rodriguez here on TalkSox, see right hand column for access ........ It addresses why the Sox batters, as a whole, are in a true power slump and not just in a group of individual slumps. This smacks of organizational direction or influence to emphasize contact, but not hard contact. You have to do two things as a hitter, hit the ball and hit it with high exit velocity. Of course, to hit it you have to see it and judge the pitches trajectory , so there's that too.
  15. And if the overall lineup were hitting to their career OPS numbers the team would have many more wins
  16. When will the analysts finally recognize that ultimate statistic, the only one that actually matters if a team is playing for a championship.
  17. For all the reasons above Wong had to be sent. He may have hesitated near 2B because the wind was blowing in and it was mire of a flyball than rocket shot. Plus if the throw came home as it did, IKF was going to be on second where a single should have scored him. Cedane almost singled but as SS says, tjus team is neither good nor lucky
  18. Mayer is a great foul ball hitter who then Ks with men on base
