  1. You could try to write this game off as just one of those "baseball" things that happen. But, I would say it is a clear indictment of DD to think that a junk squad bullpen and some retread veterans ( Pearce, Nunez) could stay very competitive for the season. They are relying on guys like Chavis for whom they did not plan to promote until September. What should Cora have done in the 9th. The FO gives him chicken shits and expects chicken salad . Cora leaves the so-called MLB level throwers out there to show Dombrowski, you give me crap, I give losses. The players will say you brush it off and line up tomorrow. That works for them. For the organization as a whole, this game highlights some real shortcomings they will need to deal with.
  2. An .087 hitter jerking Brasier off . Total f***up
  3. Another f***ing nibbler at 15 pitches, no outs, no clue. pitching scared.
  4. It is easy to forget that scoring from first base is a 90 yard sprint, with 2 sharp corners. try it sometime.
  5. The Red Sox have used RF very effectively tonight, and Chavis runs like he stole home. It's a compliment
  6. Having some fun with it, after Thunder attempts once again to school me on PC type fandom.
  7. Ok, now Chavis comes through and becomes RBI-K_Pop
  8. A little magic by Xander ?? I have no problem with him going for second on that hit.
  9. The great escape . Good work by Barnes.
  10. Cora believes that Workman needs a clean inning because he also tends to have poor control at times. Walked one tonight but it didn't bite him
  11. Barnes who can throw mid 90's+ relies on that f***ed up knuckle curve. Maybe he is setting up the DP. Sorry for not understanding Matt's tactics
  12. No, he'll be pitching the 9th, if he doesn't need to help Barnes
  13. What is amazing is that a ground ball DP changes everything but you could also see that Walden had no command and was struggling from the 1st hitter. Nothing good was going to come of that
  14. 2 for 10 RISP also gets you in these scrapes
  15. Total f***up on the mound tonight, let's try Barnes
  16. 6 outs needed, may have to watch 45 pitches to get there. Walden looking a little rough. AC should not let this go much further without a backup ready. Sometimes, the pitcher just doesn't have it on a given night. That is Walden tonight
  17. Put the ball in play and amazing things can happen
  18. Ok Thunder, Chavis is now K-Pop . He has all the plate discipline of a 15 year old after 3 beers, snuck into a gentleman's club.
  19. Nice work by Devers. Time to convert his work to a run.
  20. Betts taking outside edge pitches and rolling over trying to pull them. Must be talking to someone else's hitting coach
  21. The result of a number of laugher blow outs and just as many low run games.
  22. Would have been traded for a backup OF'er with bad ankles 2 years ago
  23. All the more reason to carpe diem, but another bad weather night where nobody hitting is too interested
  24. No, he popped up the first 2 AB's tonight. That's a big enough sample to nail him.
