Can we honestly drop the EARLY from here on out in reference to 2019. We are now in the Mid-Season stretch of June-July. To put a finer point on it, if Boston wins their next 7 in a row ( a first for 2019) and the Yankees lose their next 7 in a row, the Sox will only be 1 1/2 games out. Better yet the Red Sox need to win today to stop a 3 game losing streak, which IIRC, was 2018's longest . Or maybe just show some competitiveness and resiliency. It will be of interest to see if Steve Pearce's bad back IL stint is the beginning of the end of his time with the Sox. Over twelve million dollars of 1Bmen, in their 30's, on the IL. The replacements are Chavis and Travis. Those two should get an AVIS endorsement.

Like the recent Astros series, this one in NY has been discussed as one to show how this year's Sox measure up against top teams. 2 games to go, but I think we are getting a glimpse of the same team we have seen all along. Inconsistent, boring and with little playing to ability.

O'Brien and Eck again totally focused on the K total. They ought to look at the scoreboard once in awhile. Maybe with men on base, Sale's brain overrides his arm and shorts him a little.

It's only eyeballing but Sale has trouble regaining his command, if he had it at all when things don't go right for him. The big slider is not a strike pitch, it's almost always out of the zone (intentionally, I'm sure)

Tell me again how Leon helps Sale. I know the ERA is better than with Vaz but but Sale is about to blow back through the 5.00 ERA level if he gives up another run

0-2 on Hicks a weak hitter, and then give up a 2 run single to him. Could not put him away.

Sale is simply not the dominant pitcher many think he is. He seems to have problems stopping the bleeding when he gives up a couple hits. The K totals, in his case, are deceptive
