  1. Come on Brian, cannot be walking the leadoff guy again. Cora cannot let this one slip away, but since everyone in that pen is fairly capable of giving up the long ball, what can he do ?
  2. Thinking the same thing when he "walked" on that inside pitch. I couldn't begin to tell him how he should be hitting but he seems anticipating that they won't throw strikes to him.
  3. F'ing umpire is awful
  4. Maybe we should sign them when available. The reality is that they aren't great players in general and older to boot. But pretty good flyball hitters
  5. JDM could end this one big time.
  6. And you can be sure Cabrera will get a shot as a PH later
  7. I will tell you that Benintendi just made the day. Now the pitching management becomes critical for Cora, as well as BP performance after Johnson comes out.
  8. Situational and smart hitting finally. Three guys not going so well coming through.
  9. Nice blast by Bogie, Go ahead and hit him 3rd tomorrow, Alex
  10. Regarding Johnson, there's 4 innings of holding the damage to the bomb by Encarnacion, while throwing the ball every which way. Is the beauty of the process or the results that count? Meanwhile, the hitters are letting opportunity waste again by not supporting him vs Carrasco. I'm sure there is no mental pressure on them due to the big lead, but they aren't playing relaxed and confident.
  11. Still at .307/.970 for his last 100+ AB's. Just doesn't compute very well with recent games.
  12. Mr. DP hitting third. I like him overall for defense and sometimes bat but he is in an over 30 day slump.
  13. Call me when a RS pitcher, having reached an 0-2 count , throws a teaser pitch that the hitter must attck. Also when you have 0-2, don't walk or hit the guy.
  14. Cora may need to look at the lineup as a slump buster and move a few things around. May need to give Pearce enough AB over Moreland to get Steve's rhythm back. Bogaerts may need to hit #3. Maybe swap JBJr and Nunez
  15. Terrible strike call on Beni
  16. Bradley fouled 2 down the middle strikes before his hard hit grounder . Betts passed on 2 before his infield hit
  17. Here's some Post A-S numbers that tell part of the story. 3 regulars are hitting (BA/OPS) : Leon .119/.412 ; Moreland .186/.575 ; Holt .197/.597. After a quick start in Boston, Steve Pearce is hitting .211 in his last 38 AB's and Swihart is at .222 for his last 27 AB's. Kinsler is at .200/.526 fo rhis last 25 AB's.
  18. I was going to say something about Kinsler should not be running. Thrown out by 5 feet. I fail to see the excitement for that acquisition even if his fielding is better than Nunez.
  19. So next time Johnson is slated to start, can we just start Velazquez for one or two innings while Brian throws in the pen to get fully ready. Quite a different inning .
  20. That has been one of the clear differences over the past games at home, including Rays games, but the Indian hitters have crushed the mistake pitches in these three games so far
  21. Add that to Mookie's 22% K rate since the A-S game , but still hitting with a .294 average
  22. Beni crushes another one, but does get on courtesy of the error. Why does he have 1 HR since A-S game ? He's hitting .309 in that stretch .
  23. Odds on a RED SOX hitting response in the first inning : Officially 1 in7 (14.86%)
  24. Another Indian HR to get things rolling. Never wanted to see Encarnacion come up when he is in Fenway. Johnson acting like a heavybag in a boxing gym.
  25. Blind luck double by Lindor ups the chances of an early run for Cleveland
