  1. Sox remain one of 8 teams in MLB with single digit win totals. The good news is that with a 7-1 run through the rest of April, they can finish 16-15. When you find yourself in a hole, stop digging
  2. Good thing Chavis got his cherry popping hit out of the way early.
  3. JDM and his power arm makes the trade of JBJr inevitable, so Mookie can play center. ( Joking, folks) Benintendi would be so lucky to have JD's arm.
  4. Poyner is cannon fodder in a "tap out" game
  5. This game was 3-3 going into the 8th. Cora is managing game 2 when he brings in Brewer , saving Barnes/Brasier/Workman/Walden. AC used his 3 weakest relievers back to back hoping to get lucky. Got screwed instead, and then his #1 & #2 hitters kicked him in the groin.
  6. Here comes a 4 run rally, take it to the bank
  7. BP ERAs Hembree 5.56, Thornburg 5.59, Brewer 8.31 (and will have 2 losses)
  8. I would have preferred to pull Brewer than the infield . DD really rolled craps when he thought he could paste a BP out of some of these guys.
  9. It nevers seems to happen, but does anyone think an IBB to load the bases and set up the DP is a better strategy than pulling the infield in ?
  10. Brewer is a real treat. Watched him lose one of the AZ games
  11. JDM is an exciting player in all areas
  12. I read that this morning too, and wondered why the note didn't end with the requisite, LOL
  13. Going out on a limb, but guessing Pearce can't keep up this level of suckage too long. But DD got himself in a corner with this signing. He will be an expensive fail if he doesn't come around, and untradable to a contender if he doesn't come around. Of course, Moreland hasn't yet incurred his annual injury that makes Pearce the insurance policy.
  14. You certainly have that right. The tide may change in a year or two but definitely hasn't yet.
  15. Here's another winnable game against a mid level team , playing in your park Hembree does what he can to make it a comeback win. The BP is not fooling anyone over the course of the season.
  16. i wonder if Tzu Wei looks at video of his AB's. Even on the double his back foot is off the ground and not planted. He will never improve as a hitter if he can't cure that.
  17. Unless the Sox score in the 5th and get a lead, Sale will be almost into May with an 0-4 record and 7.43 ERA. Starters as a group are 2-11. But I think it is the hitters, outside of JDM, who are just as responsible for the slow start
  18. 3 guys in this lineup did not leave Ft. Myers with the team. Beni-Betts and Bogey all hitting below .280. Multiple guys below .200. Not many HR's
  19. I understand that it's a day-night doubleheader but look at that lineup, and their performance to date (with the sample size growing daily) Truly weak hitting from too many guys.
  20. The obligatory HR against for Red Sox pitching
  21. Pearce gets a hit, the catcher's glove. Nice timing , Steve. The OPS must be near .375 now
  22. Somewhat like Betts, the expectation level for Chris Sale is so high that anything but true domination is not fun to watch. His game today is an example of maybe learning to pitch vs just throw hard. We will need to learn to live with that. With the Sox potential on offense, and at Fenway, the problem shouldn't be the pitching.
  23. It was sarcasm. But Sale followed through by surrendering the 2 out laser that scored his walk and stolen base. But now Saale may make it into the 6th inning which is a plus
  24. Betts may well be back. That was a key hit.
