  1. Yes because he would not have been standing still holding the bag with the ball going to Rafi. He would have taken the goalie stance
  2. Like others, I would hate to lose this one 1-0, terrible waste of a well pitched game, but with Drew warming up, we may not have much to be concerned about.
  3. A rare thrill may be in store if we get to see Drew Pomeranz pitch in the WS. Meanwhile Brasier is throwing good but having to work.
  4. Screwed by the ump again, but why would Devers even flip that ball semi-wildly. Oh yeah, He's 22
  5. Here's one time Cora is out on a limb with the decision to bat JDM between Moreland and Holt. If I just tuned in , I would think Martinez was hitting 7th. In any case, neithe JD nor anyone else is hitting Buehler tonight. Get ready fr Baez and Jansen, both of who can be beat, sort of like the Yankee pen.
  6. Moreland is only effective when the pitch hits him. Might not see a lot more of Mitch this series as a starter, especially at 3rd in the lineup
  7. If Machado would sign for $10 a year and help with the laundry in the clubhouse, i still wouldn't want him. Not enough Charmin for that asswipe
  8. VAZ, showing better patience than certain others, is becoming a grinder. Not a hit but getting closer to Buehler's pitch limit around 100
  9. Note that the Sox have feasted on bullpens from 7th on, or starters on 3rd time through (coming up shortly). The 2 games in Fenway were different because we scored early. Tonight is not atypical for this team.
  10. Nice pitch by Erod. Don't even talk about using EO unless we have the lead. (Buck and Smoltz, sounds like a failed steakhouse)
  11. Or possibly flip Vaz to Leon one hitter earlier.
  12. All in all, Rick P did what he could with average stuff tonight, Buehler is just settled down and our hitters aren't hurting his effort.
  13. Yes he is giving the chance to win. Needs to get this inning with no further damage to keep us going. But lead off runner , now for the DP
  14. 25 pitches by Buehler in the first, only up to 79 by end RS 5th. Who PH's for Porcello in the 6th ? Do you have to save Beni for defense later in place of JDM ?
  15. I was wondering if Rick would have gotten that call had Bellinger not swung. It was a strike but who knows
  16. With some good , extended AB's and a hit or three, we will only have to see 2 more innings of Buehler.
  17. Good to see that Joe West's exhibition of how to call Balls and strikes did not rub off on this dildo ump. It's one thing if the ball might go over the outside front corner of the plate, but to miss entirely is inexcusable. At least the NFL fired one of their weak line judges. Referee's Assoc immediately files a grievance, of course.
  18. Get him out early. Porcello actually wasn't sharp early, just got away with some stuff. Only one or two godd edge pitches. Where's the curveball tonight?
  19. Let's see if Rick can stop it here. Leaving balls in middle of the plate, especially a change up leads to souvenirs
  20. Bradley's play probably made VAZ reluctant to take any chances. Remind me when Betts becomes MVP of the regular season. May have forgotten by then.
  21. This early in the game, I would have let Porcello swing away and rearrange the 3Bman's teeth. Show bunt once, pull back and swing.
  22. Go VAZ right now, break for second. F Bradley if he was running on his own
  23. Nice running game , Cora/JBJr. You needed to see what Buehler could do from the stretch.
  24. Carbon collectors . LA working hard on climate change.
  25. Enough feeling each team out, Time to get someone on base and disrupt Buehler. Porcello shouldn't leave too many of those pitches in the low 90's in the middle of the plate as he did to useless Grandal.
