    You mean the opponents aren't all wearing 80's and 90's numbers. That was the common explanation for why ST doesn't matter.

    I think of few of us were looking at a 6-5 or 5-6 road trip for two reasons: No sense of readiness or momentum in the later part of Spring and the usual west coast trip blues. The Dodgers are making Torey Lovullo's Diamondbacks look really bad, so maybe 3 wins in Phoenix will help after splitting with Oakland.

    In 14.0 innings to date starters have given up 20 earned runs. And to think the BP was the question mark.

    Sometimes i would rather see Rick Porcello on the mound than some of our other throwers. Today might be one of those, maybe. Maybe not. At least no HR's allowed through one, and Nunez delivered after JDM.

    Lots of credit to Mitch Barnes who looked very sharp in closing this win. Way to go Moreland and Barnes.

    Elias looking like the Elias Sports Bureau. No w e see if Barnes can use less than 25 pitches to close one. My least favorite Red Sox. I will gladly eat crow if he gets it done

    If we all recall, last year Cora stuck with Nunez in almost all situations over Holt . It must be a homeboy thing

    Bases loaded for Nunez ??? What will happenNunez DP's. A total sack of s***, not even running to first just in case. Saving Pedroia back in Ft. Myers will cost them this game, who knows ? Also Styeve Pearces's calf injury is the indicator of the a larger than expected contract producing no returns as he can't play either

    Yeah, you are right but as so many said ST doesn't count and the "regulars " would turn it on against a team that will not finish at .500. The Red Sox sucked in ST and were/are in a team wide slump going back a week or ten days. It will take a few more games to come alive. Cold , wet Oakland isn't the place to turn it around.

    It does appear that Cora did soft pedal the workload for all in ST, probably due to the long run through the WS last year. And the fact that it is a marathon, not a sprint. With Sale's pitch count , we will get to see some of the bullpen questions start getting addressed tonight. Like a few others here, I think this 11 game road trip will result in a slow start with a 5-6 or 6-5 record. Not a disaster nor an omen of things to come but just a sense they are still getting up to baseball speed. LOB means Left On Base. Then Encarnacion puts another silver bullet in his bat. Hated that guy for years

    At 53 pitches and trailing 3-2 , will CS get through 4 innings ? Is Sandy leon's phone ringing yet. It's still early , the Red Sox hitters will pull this one out.
