  1. The fact you had to clarify it for some ( most not on this thread today) says it all.
  2. He has been a positive catalyst with a power bat and aggressive basserunning, which can work both ways. Maybe the bigger message is if you old fart World Champions don't want to exert yourselves, there's some guys looking for your jobs. Then the 2018 vets look at Chavis and say, " Now that you are out of the MiLB system, who else have you got, lol"
  3. Hate to say it but I believe the back problems with JDM have cost him maybe 10% power which was evident the last two games.
  4. For the moment, I think Chavis is the write-in choice. Not expecting an acquisition until maybe late July if nothing clicks with the existing guys
  5. Since Tzu goes up and down so often from Pawsox to Boston, I think his father is the famous musician , Yo Yo Ma
  6. Big Al "Spy" Speier making it all clear to us unwashed
  7. Select one of the following: A. ____ Pedroia B._____ Holt C._____ Nunez D. ____ Lin E._____ None of the Above F. _____ Write In Choice
  8. Ok, you started it ----Go Wei, far Wei
  9. Bullpen game as predicted. Velasquez is not the answer to a 5th or 6th starter
  10. Rico makes the call and is right again. Lin is no answer as a regular, except maybe for Pawsox
  11. Chavis luck ran out on that rebound off the way too tight backstop screen. Should have had the lead, but not Mike's fault for going. It's Lin's fault for coming out of the dugout , down 0-2, then finishing the K with one of the weakest Taiwan-Japanese league type slow slash swing. He is as pitiful as all our other sub .200 hitters
  12. JBJr is getting hot, and good fo him. Will increase his trade value
  13. We always talk about the difficulty of West Coast road trips for the Sox. It looks like between Toronto and Boston, the A's are seeing the flip side of all that time and routine change. One of MLB's programs to be implemented in 2021 is that all teams east of the Missippi play all games east of the river, and vice versa fo west coast teams. It's a contribution to reducing MLB's carbon footprint
  14. Shouldn't Vaz's nickname be RED ?
  15. Beni , in the lead off spot for the last 7 games is 4 for 25, with an OBP of under .260. SSS but he is the leadoff hitter.
  16. Chavis learns the triumph of the uncluttered mind and the benefits of hitting the base with your grounder
  17. With Velasquez starting, this is the Red Sox version of the bullpen game. Hector was not effective in relief on Monday night . Let's see if he can give 4 innings, allowing noi more than 2 runs. If not, the rotation is a mess until Josh Smith or Darwinzon (on a call up) show they can go 5+ and be in control.
  18. A big win for the Starting Pitchers who now have 4. great game for Porcello who allowed no namesakes.
  19. 20 pitches and one out . When relievers go over 20 they generally fail.
  20. A Home Run , an out, then a walk with a 5-1 lead. Thornburg's ass is eating sofa cushions about now.
  21. Tyler DFA Thornburg. What a loser !
  22. The end of the slow beginning ?? A run to begin with a competitive lineup ?? Or just 2 wins vs a team that will go down without any noise.
  23. Interesting how the starting rotation is magically back in synch to a large degree. It was either the lack of ST prep or the return of Sandy Leon, lol .
  24. Beni made the first out in the first inning. Then made the third out in three separate innings . Nice symmetry
