  1. The great escape . Good work by Barnes.
  2. Cora believes that Workman needs a clean inning because he also tends to have poor control at times. Walked one tonight but it didn't bite him
  3. Barnes who can throw mid 90's+ relies on that f***ed up knuckle curve. Maybe he is setting up the DP. Sorry for not understanding Matt's tactics
  4. No, he'll be pitching the 9th, if he doesn't need to help Barnes
  5. What is amazing is that a ground ball DP changes everything but you could also see that Walden had no command and was struggling from the 1st hitter. Nothing good was going to come of that
  6. 2 for 10 RISP also gets you in these scrapes
  7. Total f***up on the mound tonight, let's try Barnes
  8. 6 outs needed, may have to watch 45 pitches to get there. Walden looking a little rough. AC should not let this go much further without a backup ready. Sometimes, the pitcher just doesn't have it on a given night. That is Walden tonight
  9. Put the ball in play and amazing things can happen
  10. Ok Thunder, Chavis is now K-Pop . He has all the plate discipline of a 15 year old after 3 beers, snuck into a gentleman's club.
  11. Nice work by Devers. Time to convert his work to a run.
  12. Betts taking outside edge pitches and rolling over trying to pull them. Must be talking to someone else's hitting coach
  13. The result of a number of laugher blow outs and just as many low run games.
  14. Would have been traded for a backup OF'er with bad ankles 2 years ago
  15. All the more reason to carpe diem, but another bad weather night where nobody hitting is too interested
  16. No, he popped up the first 2 AB's tonight. That's a big enough sample to nail him.
  17. Chavis is becoming Pops Jr.
  18. Lead off double and nothing much happening . Chavis, Pearce and Bradley can't move the parade, after Brockstar got JD to 3rd.
  19. That looks like real fugly weather for baseball. Get a lead and call it early.
  20. Excellent "catch" on remembering Jackie Smith. A man went his entire HS, College, Pro career for that one memorable moment and then completely failed to execute his reason for being on the team. It led Donnie Moore to an untimely end.
  21. Quiet ! You will wake up the Bruins who are sleepwalking through about half the opener. Chara reminds me why it is the rare athlete who can play much beyond 40. Anxious to see Tom Brady this fall keep his excellence going. The good news is that the Bruins did wake up, due to Thunder's noise, and scored a couple goals in the second period to tie it up. Meaning the 3rd period will be all out skating and shooting.
  22. I think the fail is using Pops as a lead off hitter. He needs to be a #6 or #7 guy, given his production. Other than Betts there is not a true leadoff hitter with a good OBP and power.
  23. Love to see another Rask shutout. Interesting to see what the 10 days off does in the first period. Who will start hitting to gain some dominance, probably the Blues at first.
  24. Better than Capt. Oblivious, such as a fan of Pops
  25. JD's back is back. Big things to come from that. JD was lonely without his bro Brock Holt around. Now he's happy
