    Easy hit if correctly executed. Watching plenty of games in the AL where the ability to control the bat and hands enough to "catch" the ball coming and , redirect it along the baseline and run like hell is not that easy without a lot of reps. Who currently goes to the cage for a 100 bunting reps?

    I agree that the defensive positioning with an infielder either right up the middle or playing shortfield in RF or LF has taken away many traditional hard ground ball or line drive singles. Aside from hitters getting paid for the long ball, more than singles, why not upswing for the longfly than beat a shift that will rob you of previously typical hits ? Coupled with strikeout ' accumulations not seeming to matter much, no wonder they are swinging big uppercuts.

    Should be a good and necessary win to keep rolling, but Erod's ineffectiveness and Whitlock's wildness takes a BP rest game and burns more calories from our pitchers. That will catch up to you in August/September.

    Would this team gain or lose by offering Erod at the deadline ? Would you ever worry about facing him in the playoffs ? What could he bring , a better catcher, lol ?

    Erod's nibbling is legendary . This 5th inning should be telling. He was a nibbler before he had COVID and heart infection. It shouldn't be alack of power pitching. More like a lack of brains and guts

    Erod has somehow through his own inability to throw a strike to blow his shot at a win. Chances are he won't finish the 5th. The bases loaded Vazquez K and Dalbec flyout was the place to crush the Braves.

    Dalbec choking up on the bat an inch or so? Must be for better control until you see him swing at the first pitch in the dirt

    Vaz can appear clueless at times, like now, but overall gives you his money's worth on offense and defense

    Erod's to win tonight , big lead needs to get all 5+ innings in the book. If he gets sloppy, which he has done occasionally, his Daddy will pull him short of the win
