  1. Realize that when Chris Sale does return maybe mid August, he's very likely to begin with a sequence of 3-4-5 innings so he better bring a designated reliever with him from Worcester
  2. No commentary from Jacksonian extolling the virtues of NYY'ers vs the lowly rebuilding , no shot Sox ?
  3. Wonder how long in the early days of baseball did defensive positioning develop so that the majority of hit balls went right at a defensive player ?
  4. Game changing opportunity right here, Rafi
  5. Pivetta pitching a big time QS but getting no help from a lineup WooSox would be proud to field
  6. It's actually sad that the Sox last two power prospects , Dalbec and Chavis, fail to hit the ball 3 times out of 4 today, and consistently walk back to the dugout 35-40% of the time.
  7. drop the word BETTER, does not apply
  8. The 52-32 Red Sox lineup has consistently featured and carried some marginal performers like Chavis, Dalbec, Gonzales and Santana, while the bullpen backend of Andriesse and Rios are seat holders out there. Dropping Santana in favor of almost any LH hitting 1Bman would be one step towards strengthening. Chavis, IMO, has already missed the bus to his MLB future with Boston. Dalbec has maybe 1-2 years to catch that bus, but is clearly not yet primetime. Marwin is a Cora favorite and will be a part of the mix for 2021 to the end. Sale and Brasier represent some hope for improvement , and Valdez could be back when they DFA Andriesse. Arroyo's return from IL may be considered an upgrade. Duran's arrival in the midst of a pennant race will be interesting to see. So, Chaim may need only one move LH 1Bman, some returns from IL and no further big injuries to roll on to take the AL East.
  9. Forfeit this one now and save the BP any more work. Win tomorrow
  10. Santana is a unique talent and we are lucky to have him
  11. Cora was saving O for the close with Barnes out. Now he needs to get a run here and figure out who else can throw out there.
  12. HP umpire balls/strikes is a marvel to watch
  13. If Cora is so great and the Bullpen so good, why don't they win every single game ??/ (Sarcasm)
  14. No command of his pitches whatsoever
  15. If Darawin has an out pitch , try it now, biggest out of the game right here
  16. Getting a little bitt the feeling that this is one that could easily slip away
  17. June 27, Red Sox reclaim first place in AL East . Thanks Shohei
  18. Rays down 2 runs, and 2 outs in the bottom 9. Angels push us into first ??
  19. I think that was Pete Fairbanks again.
  20. That is beyond awful. That is Pujols awful, although once he jumped to the winning Dodgers he got his Mojo back a bit.
  21. A somewhat odd structure for the opt outs to come earlier in the contract but it looks like '22 is locked in. Makes him trade bait, doesn't it ?
  22. Thanks for the update. makes it a more obvious short term decision then , come end of the season or playoffs for the Sox
  23. Angels get through the 8th , up 5-4
  24. Yacksel Rios may be one of those names that is hard to recall on the RS roster about 5 years from now, unless he blows a 7 run lead. Kind of like those two napalm throwers Del Carmen and Ramirez
  25. Be interesting to see what JDM decides this winter on his option. Do you think the Sox would try to extend to keep him. I don't. If he opts out, then that will be it.
