  1. Is there any possible deal for Reynolds that might tease the Pirates? I'm thinking Ort, Duran and Wong
  2. Right now , the offense is looking sluggish tonight . Not working this pitcher
  3. Out of the 84 pitchers listed by Moon, how many are still on MLB rosters ( some still working their way in) ? Very few recognizable names that went on or about to have a career in MLB. Maybe 6 or 7
  4. Sox now in their 5tth game at Fenway ( only 76 left, get your tickets now), and have trailed at one point or the end of game 4 times and were tied at 3-3 in 9-5 win over Baltimore in game #3. Relates to starting pitchers not opening well.
  5. Pivetta goes from 31 pitches for 2 innings and the lead, to 43 pitches through 2 and down 1. Time for a CERA calculation on McGuire
  6. McGuire turns an inning ending K by Pivetta into a base runner . Bad technique and set up. Pivetta turns the PB into a 2 run HR. Nice turn of events. He was cruising until Mcguire coughed up the ball
  7. Good news abounds on the mound as the team intended for 2023 slowly makes its way home
  8. Thank you Nick. Throwing a shutout, bud
  9. Paxton threw 3 innings at Ft. Myers today, with up to 95mph gas. He says he expects to be ready for 2024 ST so will stay in Ft. Myers for the season to get ahead of his program
  10. I'm going with Pivetta to lead the way through a no score 1st inning for the Pirates . No errors, no walks, no HBP, 3 up-3 down.
  11. Maybe the Sox track record through multiple FO/MiLB administrations developing pitchers over the past 20 years makes them shy of drafting a pitcher in a top slot. . The failed development process of at least a strong #2 type is inexplicable. Maybe that is turning around with Bello, and marginally with Houck.
  12. Arroyo having some trouble with the bat on a team that is hitting well
  13. 72 pitches in 3 innings, 5 runs, digs a 3 run hole before his team bats, blows a 2 run comeback lead , what else do you need from Kutter ?
  14. Will Verdugo be running here?
  15. Kutter gets out of the 2nd with fewer pitches than the 1st inning and cut his runs allowed by 67%
  16. Crawford's butt gets bailed out plus a couple. Can he now capitalize on that ? He needs a 12 pitch inning
  17. Glad to see Casas use the Pesky pole corner to get us up in the 1st. Amazing turnaround.
  18. 3-3 all real quick. Note that Ovieda throws in a bit of a similar style to Crawford, and gets similar results Both guys also work in the upper half of the zone, a real key to success
  19. i trust Devers got paid for his bat, not glove and arm
  20. Don't wish for what is not possible. Crawford's whole delivery is a message that he is not a serious prospect for a starting pitcher. The short arm style is better suited to a catcher
  21. It's early, but Perez got a win this weekend going 5 2/3s allowing only 1 run, BUT gave up 8 hits and 3 walks , almost 2 baserunners per inning. probably one timely hit would have sunk him.
  22. I wouldn't minimize the importance of that comeback to making this team interesting. Crap pitching early but runs scored late. Mind you a dropped pop fly to left with 2 outs made it possible but Duvall made them pay
  23. Turns out it was Duvall
  24. Going to have to do some hitting to get to Casas, or maybe a couple walks will work
  25. Here comes the walk-off win to get the season rolling. Who has got a bomb in their bat ?
