  1. With Turner's flyball out, this lineup now features 5 hitters at the Mendoza line or way below. The range is Turner at .200 down to Kike at .100. Oh but you say, check the OPS's , a better gauge. Ok, Casas does lead them at .690 (not terrible), getting down to the bottom of the curve with a .420 by Wong. I know, I know, it's early and nothing a couple HR's couldn't cure. Casas and Kike do have 2 each , none of the Turner-Wong-Arroyo crowd have any in 84 AB's
  2. P:ivetta giving the batters a chance to make something happen in the form of a lead
  3. Among others who need to step up their game in the absence of Duvall, Turner comes to mind. Kike is a no doubter who needs to come around. Casas and now Dalbec need to contribute. Wong catching more than McGuire or is that an illusion created by not watching every game ? Arroyo, what do you expect from a bench player ? Taking 2 of 3 from Rays would be a great boost and these dudes need to get in gear against some tough pitching
  4. MVP, Brasier is no option, by definition
  5. OK, I'll just say it. f*** Kike Hernandez at SS. Not even his fault, it is actually on Bloom and whoever is pulling his strings
  6. Bra-Man showing the way with a 14-2 lead , issuing the obligatory 2 out walk and HBP, followed by a hit
  7. You guys tear up Kaleb Ort like he's an IRS notification of audit . He puts in a nice inning despite a mishap in the field behind him which stretched the inning and pitch count. Now, DO NOT send him back out for the 9th
  8. Good day when 7-8-9 participate ( Kike did draw a walk)
  9. Turner may come around and get hot but right now he should be about a #7 hitter. He could be trade deadline bait too for a contender with a broken DH slot The reasons he can't be placed below #6 are Arroyo, Kike, Wong
  10. Devers with a nice Saturday.
  11. Wong gets in the bats way, then Kelly throws up a walk., instead of 2 out , none on, Kelly needs a DP
  12. 3 walks today and Yoshida has his OPS up to almost .800 ( .793)
  13. At 8-2 with 2 outs, man on 3rd, this would be a big out to nail down without allowing another score. And he does it !
  14. Yes, beginning to see the same trend of declining results after 2 times through. It points to why he may have to be a lifetime reliever, but possibly a very good one
  15. Note to Bloom-- beware Hill will be cheap to acquire from Tigers , but don't be tempted.
  16. Nice shutdown inning by Houck after getting the big lead. Maybe the Sox have developed a pitcher , though he may go back to the pen . Not all bad
  17. Devers follows direction well. Thanks, Raffy
  18. Wentz got 3 outs in 1st on 11 pitches, and now goes 36 in the 2nd and hits the showers. Devers needs to clean up the reliever and break this one open.
  19. Wong now tied with Turner on RBIs
  20. Astounded that Wong got some patience as did Kike
  21. Agreed, He and Kike are hitting about .286, combined
  22. Houck could be so good just due to the movement on his pitches. He sort of slings it up there with loads of natural spin. Get him some runs
  23. Sox out on 11 pitches ?? That was quick
  24. Looking for a road win today with good outing for Tanner. get to .500 and work up from there.
  25. Not that it is the prime concern after 6 games, but in the first week , Sox are 4 games out behind Bloom's real team. Cora said a fast start (4-2 would have been ok) was necessary. Unfortunately, Bloom let the Rays bug our clubhouse and acted on it.
