    It is not mentioned much in the threads but Cora's contract is over later this year. There are options for '23 and '24 but they are listed as club options, not Cora's. I think he is gone after October 5

    This display of ineptitude with the bat is not fun. An extremely winnable game is lost as early as the 3rd inning for lack of hitting. Plus it puts the marginal BP throwers in high leverage situations every night

    SS, any day I get to watch my main man Barnes pitch live is a good day. Get them 1-2-3 Matty. Well, maybe get 1, give up a hit, then hit Aaron Judge . Better than letting Judge hit the ball. Smart move

    Certainly appreciate Eovaldi's work ethic . Without his best stuff , he kept the 'mighty mouse" Yankees to 2 runs. The real shame is that Red Sox lineup cannot produce in Fenway

    Our infield dribblers are not as good as the Yankees dribblers. We hit too hard, or alternatively, we hardly hit.

    Familiar territory, down in the first inning but Nate's DP did avoid a big hole. Let's see if there is any response. Pretty much no response. Dever's flyball wall double was good to see but his AB and swing choices are still troubled.

    What's the O/U o n Judge's HRs this weekend. I would set it at 3.5 to insure a winner. Nate has to be good for one, and surely our relievers are good for 2, so who delivers or denies the 4th HR. I'd say Matt Barnes has a shot. In reality the Sox should sweep this series to mess with the standings.

    I checked the standings this morning fully expecting to have leaped over the left for dead Orioles, but found a gross error in print. It showed the Sox still under .500 and 4 games behind the O's . Fake news. An error as sure as a lazy flyball to centerfield when the other team is batting

    Happy to credit Matt Barnes with a job well done. He was efficient and effective using only 13 pitches to get his 3 outs. There's hope yet.

    This win will be interesting as pointed out above. A sweep and series win over an AL East rival, tightening the race for a place , lol. Still a ways to go, but Winckowski continues to make a bid for the 2023 rotation.
