  1. 3 HRs but a lot of warning track shots. Familia will be a treat to watch.
  2. Avoid walks/HBP, make them earn anything. No errors behind him will help
  3. That's interesting that he has the 4th best WAR on the Sox staff. The Sox have the 5th best record in the AL East. Whitlock's ERA is 6.97 in his last 7 games. 12 hits in last 10.1 innings.. He tries to slip some slop by Judge, the best HR hitter in the game. He is a simpleton for trying that. He also may be worn out from the double inning usage in late August/early September. What does him being a second year pitcher mean?
  4. Whitlock is a simpleton, with a tired arm
  5. I hope Kike finds a way to hit .250 in 2023, maybe with a .325 OBP. Then I could watch him with less cringing about what $10MM gets you nowadays
  6. I'm thinking the Red Sox best move on Devers would be to offer a killer AAV, say $33 million for 3 years and then let him try the FA market while still under 30. His streaky slumping second half tells me either he resists coaching or cannot adjust to the situation until he finds his stroke again
  7. That pitch to Devers was never more than about 18" off the ground and sinking.
  8. Bogaert's continues to carry them. The Yankees are so screwed come playoff time . Cole is a turd in the punch bowl
  9. If the rain became overwhelming and the game was called would it be simply suspended to finish tomorrow or does it revert to when the Sox had the lead prior to Judge's 57th, game called Sox win? since it was past 5 full innings?
  10. Sit down Marwin, you are out
  11. Well, Notin, Cora did not have much to go to today did he? Because the while the team did , in fact, put away the Rangers 4-0, the BP was stressed doing so. That led to a true incompetent thrower named Familia, followed by rookie Kelly, trying to hold a 3-2 lead in the 7th. That was my point . The wins vs Texas did not set us up well going to Tampa. The hitters are part of that mix as well including today in Tampa (13K's out of 27 outs)
  12. One chess piece off the board of uncertainty at an expected range price. So you can say that 3B, CF, 2b or SS are locked in with Verdugo as well, if not traded. The other positions ( C, DH, 2B/SS, 1B, 2 OF'ers are less certain and will be in flux over the winter.)
  13. Story has become predictable as being "Story" He will hit for low average and a midrange OPS but he will k 1:3 times too. The real mistake today was putting Cordero in the lineup and worse in LF. Now he will no longer factor into anything until ST.
  14. Pham deposits his bat into the batrack without ever leaving the batter's box, except that he was OUT
  15. 11 K's already, with a chance to get to 14
  16. So now McGuire PH's for Plawecki. I guess it's the righty/lefty thin
  17. Poche ate their sack of lunch with a slow curve below the strike zone. I don't see too many opponents who chase breaking balls quite the way our lineups tend to.
  18. Gotta get it out of the way, Familia is awful. Just like Robles was. A clueless thrower, not a pitcher
  19. Congrats to the AL BA leader for yet another 2 hit game. By comparison his teammates are slackers.
  20. Very glad that Wacha got his 1000, so that OB can STFU about it. Now Bogey needs second hit so OB can stop calling Jim Rice every 2 innings to pre-celebrate the 9 consecutive multi-hit game record that Rice and Youk share. I hope Bogey gets it, then OB can really STFU.
  21. If Franchy wants to go on a mission, i'll donate
  22. Agreed, they are the worst of all-time. Next to Susan Waldman and Jon Stirling
