  1. Keuchel with his 8.49 ERA pitching like Cy Young , but Devers figured that one out for a hit. Maybe Raffy is recovering his focus
  2. One thing I have "eye tested " is that our relievers have trouble avoiding the 2 out walk, especially on 3-2 counts. Also have noticed, other teams hitters do not tend to chase low away sliders as do JDM and Kike among others. This plate discipline leads to 2 out baserunners for the opposition.
  3. You would think Eck would look in the BP to intelligently guess whether Pivetta is likely to return or not.
  4. Another miss by the chUMP. Wong did not foul nor touch that first pitch. Umpires must have really great meal per diems because if they are over 50 they are fat.
  5. Pivetta makes the play, great for him and team, but yet another shot back at our pitcher. Nick looks like it is hurting. he may be done. Might get cheated out of evening his W-L record.
  6. Pivetta slightly squeezed , marginal pitch. Nick really has trouble with 2 out pitching.
  7. JDM's groove is still very up and down, sometimes 2 at a time.
  8. Come on, Splendid Splinter lead us to a genuine 10 win run. Get us well over .500. Tonight's lineup looks like one that should been in place all season And with Nicky P. throwing, well we still have a chance if these other 9 can hit a bunch. Nick actually has been about all you can expect from a #4/#5 on a good staff, but this year he needed to go above and beyond. I sense a win coming on. That was not possible after last night's 8th inning unproductive meltdown. Then deja vu in the 9th with a far different outcome.
  9. NFL now plays 17 regular season games, only 3 preseason. Fans were getting tired of paying full freight for 2 home preseason games of wannabes and wontbes, so the league called one of them a count-in-the -standings game
  10. Hah, Texas has a worse bullpen than Boston. Laughing it off
  11. Reffy walks it off very smartly for a comeback win. The Sox may not lose again this season.
  12. Yes, Kike did come through and good for him. Now win it to avoid more work
  13. No but he is still a fisherman at heart. Very weary of that crap
  14. If Raffy is suddenly back, it will be great for all. Imagine going with the pitch to left center and scoring two
  15. A 6 pitcher very likely loss (8-5) and 3 of the relievers gave up 6 runs directly or letting the inherited runners score. All to a 58-71 team. That's how they stay 6 under .500 and 4 under at home. Pending an amazing comeback effort, old time Sox action
  16. Nice choke job by McGuire, preceeded by Hernandez with a shot at getting back in the game.
  17. Regardless of outcome, i would let Franchy hit in lieu of Hernandez pinchhitting. It will take a 3 run HR to fix this game, for that I think Franchy has a better shot Struck that loser out with an out of zone slider, as always. Thanks for not DP'ing Kike
  18. Given the August trends, it is not out of the question to see a 79-83 endline. This Rangers series at home should be 3-1 outcome, but don't start with a loss and it will be easier to achieve
  19. Welcome back to Bigs, Bizarro. Your seat in the Sox pen is now solidified right next to Brasiers. Hope you get the souvenir ball after it hit the light tower frame
  20. A PH double play is a feat to behold.
  21. 29 pitches and 2 runs allowed on weak hits, but I didn't see anything Kelly threw that would indicate an ability to fool batters
  22. I'll ask again, do these relievers who cannot throw a strike know that in their bullpen warmup or does it come as a surprise to them? Kelly has no clue.
  23. Would Chaim trade for Ranger's Heim or does the spelling throw him off. The guy can hit to left field.
  24. Another "shifty " hit vs the shift. Sox get more bleeders and bloops against them . Just not fair.
