  1. Our dudes are the Keystone Kops on defense. Nice catch Arroyo. Devers, try holding onto the ball next time you get cut blocked
  2. I know the Red Sox are show casing ORT to tease teams needing a reliever .
  3. Schrieber gets all messed up with 2 weak rollers, a possible bad ball track by Yoshida, a bunt for a run, then a walk. Guys you are on the edge of a Pirate sweep because you aren't hitting
  4. Finally get a really good effort from our starter Kluber but gets no hitting support and can't be the winner, in the rare event of a Sox comeback. Chang is lost as is Wong at bat. The fearsome foursome , who were hitting a cumulative .368 a couple innings ago are now at .342
  5. Did you mean Blah, as in Red Sox batters ? No real shots hit on a cold day by these check swingers
  6. Sox batters in a hurry to catch that flight to Detroit. Fast game happening . Hope it ends 1-0 for the Sox to put pressure on Splinter's O/U bet at 1.5 such games for the season Whoa, more like 1-0 Pittsburgh on a Pesky shot
  7. Chang, Casas, Arroyo and Wong are batting a cumulative .368, or 1.268 OPS ( 4 guys) . The get-a-away day B lineup hasn't done much
  8. Welcome back to the 2023 version of a hard to fathom Red Sox roster. They may crush it today though. Not Arroyo, Chang and Wong, however.
  9. Kluber either gets a K and/or DP here or he is the goat of the week, and not the G.O.A.T.
  10. Second tour of the rotation starts after a weak first round. It will take all 5 guys to give it a second go to see who was simply cold the first time and who can adjust their game. The 2-3 record, and possible Pittsburgh sweep at Fenway looms large over Kluber's shoulder. Time to win one
  11. Kike is an awful hitter and viewer of pitches
  12. He appears to have a significant uppercut swing which will lead to top spin and a lot of right side ground balls.
  13. Arroyo learns that when you are going poorly, the umpires expand the zone for the pitcher. marginal calls on him
  14. Tonight batting positions 1-4 have gone 2 for 11; 5-9 are 2 for 14, with McGuire having both hits. Arroyo needs to knock him in to make the 7th inning worthwhile
  15. Have to capitalize on that error , Duvall, just like vs the O's, Can't pull the trigger on 3-2 ? Another guy who got lucky early and will ride that for the season.
  16. So through the first 5 starters for Boston only Tanner Houck gets a win. And the team is on a teeter totter between 2-3 and 3-2 in their first set of home games. Another come from behind effort needed , along with a shutdown BP session. Winck got that one done very nicely
  17. At 85 pitches , 2 HRs, and several hard OF shots , plus 2 out walks, I think Mr. Pivetta should be done. If he does come back for the 6th, then very short leash , one baserunner and he should be done
  18. Is there any possible deal for Reynolds that might tease the Pirates? I'm thinking Ort, Duran and Wong
  19. Right now , the offense is looking sluggish tonight . Not working this pitcher
  20. Out of the 84 pitchers listed by Moon, how many are still on MLB rosters ( some still working their way in) ? Very few recognizable names that went on or about to have a career in MLB. Maybe 6 or 7
  21. Sox now in their 5tth game at Fenway ( only 76 left, get your tickets now), and have trailed at one point or the end of game 4 times and were tied at 3-3 in 9-5 win over Baltimore in game #3. Relates to starting pitchers not opening well.
  22. Pivetta goes from 31 pitches for 2 innings and the lead, to 43 pitches through 2 and down 1. Time for a CERA calculation on McGuire
  23. McGuire turns an inning ending K by Pivetta into a base runner . Bad technique and set up. Pivetta turns the PB into a 2 run HR. Nice turn of events. He was cruising until Mcguire coughed up the ball
  24. Good news abounds on the mound as the team intended for 2023 slowly makes its way home
  25. Thank you Nick. Throwing a shutout, bud
