    Basically a .300 hitter with a .370 OBP, a little power which he did show in first half 2023. A plug-in for LF in Fenway. The fact he can't or just doesn't speak English just aligns him with a few other players on the team.

    Yes, agree with your conclusion. This is a great example of a game won, then lost by multiple suspects in a short period. What choices were there that might have shut down the O's.. Glad to see Brennan B. back and pitching somewhat effectively. He held the Orioles to the 7 surrendered by Campbell and Martin.

    Rerun these stats in about 30 days, Max, when it will be declared "STILL EARLY" and the results may vary. Yes, The Sox had a great start from the mound with both starters and BP. The trouble with a 162 game season is that every little flaw gets exposed and utilized by opponents. And that's without the inevitable injuries. The Sox started out this year with a 5 man rotation that only worked when very little went off track. In 2 weeks or less, 40% of the presumed starters went off the reservation. That was Ownership chocking the FO

    I love it when we set up really great comeback wins. It's takes guts to play the game this way.

    I said it a 100 times last year. Cora is forced into a game of bullpen roulette night after night---guess why ? The so called starters aren't capable of delivering a lot more than 5 inning start. We'll see about Pivetta in a few weeks, but Crawford and certainly Winckowski, if he takes Nick's slot, is no answer to a 7 inning start. Call me when Bello delivers 7. Houck may be the great white hope, but history is not on his side.

    Interesting NESN shot of Breslow and Epstein sitting together watching the game. Breslow is on his phone and I could swear he was saying " I said Shortstop, not Shitshow , you idiot"

    Yoshida does get a single which will look like a line drive in the box score but was actually another of his patented rollover grounders through the 1B/2B gap. Holliday was probably too far to his right, not knowing Yoshi's tendencies

    Go to your bullpen every day after just 5 innings and things will happen that are not so positive. Campbell threw nothing but sliders , giving up 3 runs ? The Of'ers kept the runners on 2nd/3rd from where it is easier to score.

    Great when our Lh'ers go the oppo way and use the wall as a backboard or nominal barrier to fly over. Good for Casas, and with Devers actually on base too. Very winnable game, but 12 outs to get.

    Kutter certainly went sideways there , but prevented a big hit and pitched out of 3-0 bases loaded. Love for him to get the win here, but like Winkowski, he has an issue with having no power pitch. All breaking balls. That said, he was up against a heavily LH hitting O's lineup. He has done enough to win tonight.

    In a very limited time, he is showing his MiLB ability to field and throw. Kutter is likely done, I think he may have jammed his foot slightly getting the out at 1B. Casas's toss didn't help.

    Crawford having trouble with 5th innings, both in Anaheim ( no defense either) and tonight. Needs a DP grounder in the worst way right now

    Sometimes just putting the ball in play and hitting balls where they ain't is enough to get results. Nice 2 out, 2 rbi groundball hit from Wong.

    Needing a 2Bman, maybe we should make the O's an offer. How about that wily Yoshida and Reyes for the vastly unproven Holliday ? That's a BOGO deal.

    Duran may have only mid-level, average talent but he does play the game hard. That run was his all the way.

    If Yoshi doesn't find his left field slash stroke, like Duran has been doing, the Nation will turn sharply on the man from Japan and make his life miserable. He is not showing anything in the DH role. Tired of his tiny step running too.

    Devers and Casas open a new pub called the Rally Killers. As others have said, if Devers is off his game due to his shoulder limitations, then give him 10 days off now and hope it can be rehabbed. If it is not his shoulder then he is a sorry hitter right now. His arm wrenching ultimate swing speed is not helping him nor the team. Casas is topping a lot of balls right now. His uppercut is missing the middle and lower half of the ball.

    Let's give Romy Gonzalez a chance to prove he can field and otherwise make plays at SS without costing the pitchers extra "outs". If after a week of games , he cannot show this board what he can do to secure a spot in the Nation annals , then I'm sure we will inform Breslow accordingly and changes will be made.then It would also be a plus if he can hit .250 at the MLB level, or otherwise be an OBP star.
