  1. Good day when 7-8-9 participate ( Kike did draw a walk)
  2. Turner may come around and get hot but right now he should be about a #7 hitter. He could be trade deadline bait too for a contender with a broken DH slot The reasons he can't be placed below #6 are Arroyo, Kike, Wong
  3. Devers with a nice Saturday.
  4. Wong gets in the bats way, then Kelly throws up a walk., instead of 2 out , none on, Kelly needs a DP
  5. 3 walks today and Yoshida has his OPS up to almost .800 ( .793)
  6. At 8-2 with 2 outs, man on 3rd, this would be a big out to nail down without allowing another score. And he does it !
  7. Yes, beginning to see the same trend of declining results after 2 times through. It points to why he may have to be a lifetime reliever, but possibly a very good one
  8. Note to Bloom-- beware Hill will be cheap to acquire from Tigers , but don't be tempted.
  9. Nice shutdown inning by Houck after getting the big lead. Maybe the Sox have developed a pitcher , though he may go back to the pen . Not all bad
  10. Devers follows direction well. Thanks, Raffy
  11. Wentz got 3 outs in 1st on 11 pitches, and now goes 36 in the 2nd and hits the showers. Devers needs to clean up the reliever and break this one open.
  12. Wong now tied with Turner on RBIs
  13. Astounded that Wong got some patience as did Kike
  14. Agreed, He and Kike are hitting about .286, combined
  15. Houck could be so good just due to the movement on his pitches. He sort of slings it up there with loads of natural spin. Get him some runs
  16. Sox out on 11 pitches ?? That was quick
  17. Looking for a road win today with good outing for Tanner. get to .500 and work up from there.
  18. Not that it is the prime concern after 6 games, but in the first week , Sox are 4 games out behind Bloom's real team. Cora said a fast start (4-2 would have been ok) was necessary. Unfortunately, Bloom let the Rays bug our clubhouse and acted on it.
  19. I think he needs to be refocused on the slash type line drive swing he showed in the WBC . He makes contact but it has been topped grounders after the first couple games, and no slices off towards the wall. He's trying to hit GS's with one on.
  20. Ground ball DP . If observers do not see the uppercut swing to top the ball on his last several AB's , except when he K's . He may do well later after he sees a lot more pitching, but his current flaw is in his swing
  21. A nice defensive play to get out of a tough situation. Pirate runners did not help themselves . Started with fielding by Kelly and correct first move to get the ball to McGuire
  22. Well, that achievement would lead to 162-0 , would that be enough ? Only if they went on to sweep the World Series too.
  23. Bleier throws like a younger version of Rich Hill
  24. This team needs luck such as McGuire's foul ball ruled fair, then foul ( then K'ed on a marginal pitch). They don't have lot more going for them right now
  25. Yoshida has one trick--- a bouncer/grounder to 1Bman. Welcome to the MLB , samurai
