  1. Jad, you are on a roll. Sox may not lose again this year , at least until Kluber pitches.
  2. Kind of close, but neither is habitable in the winter. Oh, I forgot, many of you live in new England/New York
  3. Is the game actually 8:10 EDT/5:10PDT ? Late start on a Friday night . Not going to be available until later in the game but good luck and pitching to Nick Pivetta. Brewers record to date is formidable at 14-5, tied with Braves for 2nd best record following the RAYS @ 16-3.
  4. Bulletin: Brasier struggling with 7 run lead. He may be the first one to get overused in this early season
  5. Yoshida is such a different hitter when he slashes through the ball. If he can keep up that approach he can be the on base guy in the lower half. Also 2 out hitting with RISP makes you a fan favorite
  6. looks like a great Red Sox day with everyone in the lineup and on the mound participating. It sounds too simple but the key to a consistent winning record is the accumulation of series won or worst split. If the bottom half of the lineup can just hit in the .230-.240 range, this team will do a lot better . Overall the pitching is actually pretty decent.
  7. Having been concious of Red Sox baseball, via my Dad who went to college in Boston, since about 1950 the years of watching the Yankee dominance was extremely disheartening. But I think the real pain was in the '67, '75 , '86 WS losses in 7 games often turning on a quirky play . The loss to the Cardinals in '46 , the year I was born was always just a legend of Pesky and Slaughter . The '78 B.F. Dent HR was about as difficult to absorb as any of the WS losses. In the end the JH era of ownership has be4en the reward for staying a fan for so long. Those successes makes the recent mediocrity harder to accept without comment.
  8. Playing about at the RS .500 level after going 65-12 in season. My quick assessment, likely wrong, is that the Red Sox are a .500 +- team and we need to get used to it . I remember that in most of the 50's, 60s, 70s, 80s,90s and up to 2004. It's not fun, younger fans. Where is Kimmy this year?
  9. Yes, pretty much agree with you, but the Panthers just scored again early 3rd . Why would anyone watch 10-4 baseball when the Stanley Cup playoffs are on. Oh, because we can see two screens at once. Got it
  10. Tapia still showing some deceptive stats but trust me this guy is a fraud, like Kluber will prove to be
  11. Then Bertuzzi deflects a shot in at the end of a PP. Go Bruins.
  12. Then Ullmark gives up a very soft goal to go down 2-1
  13. To me, it's on Cora/Bush. When Brasier or any reliever has to go 31 pitches, it is too much and they bleed runs. When you see a marginal guy like Brasier get in trouble , pull them, they don't get better
  14. Bruins tie it up on a shorthanded goal by Marchand. Great player even without Bergeron
  15. Could be. Very little MLB ready at WooSox right now . Give it a year or maybe two
  16. They are losing to Panthers in mid 2nd
  17. Had the game in hand all along, but had to have some excitement
  18. Refsnyder could not have hit a worse dribbler
  19. Hernandez still sucks , got lucky
  20. Very tough pitcher but both Devers and Turner swung and missed at Ball 4, assuming the umpire could even see the 100+ mph heat
  21. Another deficiency of the player development system , especially with a speed guy like Duran. I did expect him to try a bunt on the first pitch
  22. Duran at least made contact creating a play that tied the game. There is a reason Tapia was a non-roster invitee FA . A cheap bench player ---another Bloom special
  23. Maybe this is the RS strategy with this lineup group: You have to assume the sub-Mendoza guys will sooner or much later revert to the mean and elevate their hitting in a torrid manner creating a multitude of runs . That will not be true of Yu Chang who will not last on this roster past June 30. The other possibility is to simply wait until Story, Mondesi and Duvall to return unofficially restarting the season.
  24. Dugo, Devers and Turner are 6 for 10 tonight . Rest of them 2 for 19
  25. One could ponder how a team can be 2 for 12 RISP and only score 1 run. Obviously , one player in scoring position did not bother to score on one of the two hits. Which one was it?
