    Can't compare the Criswell signing to Giolito's . Criswell was looked at as depth, not a mid rotation member of the staff. Having said that, we are probably glad Breslow did sign him since his lead dog blew up.

    I imagine Romy Gonzalez can help cover the position but Valdez will get time there to see if his hitting stays hot. The roster crunch comes when O'Neill and Yoshida are ready to return , before Casas later in June.

    An encouraging win , jump back over .500, Criswell pitches 5 good innings, Valdez makes a statement, Rafaela shows why he should be the full time CF'er. Conor Wong's versatility is not to be overlooked, although this should have been a rest day for him. Sox prove they can actually hit at Fenway and post some runs. Red Sox may be a .500+ team but Detroit cannot claim that distinction. In fact, Detroit looks pretty dull.

    What the heck is Kennedy's job anyway ? Covering for JH ? If they want to cut the budget, start with this guy and about 40 analysts in the organization

    Maybe Grissom would have better luck if he tried standing in the LH batter's box and didn't swing. Ability aside, this guy is the unluckiest hitter we have seen in a while.

    Fairly amazing that the one starting pitcher Breslow signs turns out to be the one who never pitches even one inning in competition for the Sox.

    So I don't pay any attention to this game as a protest against anything Apple and the Battling Brahmans of Kenmore Square decide to hit the ball, backing another excellent outing by Tanner Houck . Glad they are coming back to .500 . That basement is dank and filled with rats, so leave it to Blue Jays, known insect eaters

    Looks like Whitlock got his elbow internally braced and could return in 2025 . Don't think I have read anything less interesting unless it was the Red Sox lineup this year

    Solo Hr's are so last week . The current mode of day is NoHo's Not only do these guys swing at really bad pitches, they then take obvious strikes for the punchout. Truly clueless at times. Not only being no hit , they only have one walk to put them over the minimum # of batters by 1.

    Infield positioning of Grissom helps that time turn a bouncer into a DP. I guess the Sox batters are so awed by seeing 21st Century RS true Ws winners that they are star struck and can't see the ball. An embarrassing show for the RS HoF'ers. But time yet for a comeback

    Then because he failed to hit, he butchers a ball down the RF line turning it into a triple. A good player having a bad night, but they all do at Fenway.. Pivetta throwing a 5+ inning gem but no support and gives up a "first of the year" Hr to Badoo
