  1. And, regrettably, the majority of those who signed pledging their sacred honor paid a severe price for telling the Crown to piss off. These people including strong women would not recognize the vampire that the Federal Government has become in our days. They would have been Red Sox fans, more likely Patriots fans in Tom Brady's days as El Jefe
  2. O'Neill remains a statistical anomaly. Hitting .885 OPS with 16 HR's , but still only 28 rbi's, meaning other than himself, he has only contributed 12 other runs with Duran in front of him most of the season and Devers now regularly behind him. Not saying he hasn't been helpful, but something doesn't click in terms of causing runs to score.
  3. Don't think you could get anything in the way of a player/pitcher. If the Sox could have moved Dalbec over the past couple years, even in a multi-player, I think they would have. Smith would have to wake up to get traded.
  4. Splendid wins the series, despite what Denny G says, and now for the sweep tomorrow early. Bello does get the win, and the Sox bats come alive late as they usually do.
  5. Really need to see what we could get for Rafaela at the deadline. Maybe a backup 1Bman or a Lh reliever with forearm tightness. Nice to get a game buster there, Cedanne
  6. Well Dom Smith, you showed the sharp eye that time, hitting a foul HR on 3-0, then walking to avoid the golden sombrero. No end to your future in this game
  7. I didn't see Bello volunteer to go up and hit. Also didn't see Dom Smith volunteer to wake up. 3 strikeouts, all with men on base with the bat on his shoulder. Unbelievable. Meanwhile, Booby D. is stuck in Worcester, LOL
  8. Damnable Dom Smith allows yet another middle-middle strike 3 roll by him with runners on 2nd/3rd. WTF is wrong with him ?
  9. Can anyone on this team hit a f***ing medium flyball with a man on 3rd ?
  10. The Sox should be up about 5-1 and securing the series win. Leaving LoBsters all over the basepaths. Never let teams like Miami hang around too close. They can bite you.
  11. Quite an athletic DP by Rafaela
  12. Welcome back, you always had some good observations from the Cowboy perspective.
  13. Dom Smith not only looks sleepy, but he sleeps through the AB. 2nd time taking strike 3 with men on. Pull the trigger, Dom, you have nothing to lose , buddy, but your team does.
  14. A win in the type of game the Sox should win. Good game, guys. SS rolls on !
  15. Zack Kelly actually is a Red Sox organization product and has been effective with a WHIP below 1.0 ( 0.99) , and a sub 2.00 ERA. Got past his elbow issues from 2023 to become a contributor this year
  16. Duran continues to show his abilities with a nice HR. A shot to R-CF off a 95 mph FB was not something he had in his bag of tricks last year. Hope he gets an A-S selection as a reserve. Also hope he can take advantage of a few days off , if he doesn't get a trip. The season gets long in August dog days.
  17. Crawford needed a confidence rebuilder , same for the other guys too
  18. No lead is ever too much. Other than Martin, Jansen and Bernandino, this bullpen didn't really exist until crammed together over the winter and in ST. Not exactly a developmental progression from the farm system. But hired guns are ok when they pitch well.
  19. Red Sox playing beyond the competition and Crawford looking effective against a bad team. This series should be 2-1 or 3-0 sweep.. The guys just need to play within themselves and not let Miami get started
  20. An essential win and they did it. After 3 straight games allowing 9 or more runs, this was a good show. Odd that it took Winckowski to turn the pitching back in the right direction. Need to win the Miami series for sure.
  21. Red Sox RISP is 1 for 8 today
  22. This game really slowed down after Wink finished.
  23. Hamilton and Valdez have some throwing issues. Dom Smith has saved several off line , in the dirt throws from them, as long as Dom's elbow is not extended and vulnerable.
  24. A robbery and run save by Rafaela helps a lot.
  25. Devers definitely went through 2 slump periods this season, but clearly has broken out the big bat over tthe past week, looking like the hitting leader on this team. Today's 2 run HR was key to get a lead in support of a good effort by Wink so far. He's not unhittable, But the defense is not costing him unearned runs. I would like to see a comparative metric on Valdez's range at 2B.
